after starting 3-12 in conference play and to finish on this game I'd say we had a good season overall. If a couple of plays would have gone LSU's way, we would be playing in Baton Rouge this weekend. Very hard to go back to back but I think LSU will always contend for a championship year in and year out. Very proud of these guys and LSU's future in baseball looks bright. Can't wait till next year

Until the ninth inning... Gage should've never been in there...he obviously was not ready... and then he continued to leave him to lose the game after he gave up the lead.... terrible ending that could've been better if he coached correct at the end

I would have had to lose with ack or someone else,, jump was on a short rest,, plus he is a slow starting pitcher, the odds are not in your favor in that situation with jump,,ack was already in the flow of the game... im not a expert but i wouldn't put a starting pitcher on short rest in to close a game ,, yeah i understand what he was doing but like i said the odds are not in your favor at that moment in the game ...yeah that dropped ball in extra innings played a part but it shouldn't have never made it to that point,, big props to helm cause he did a great job , They fought hard an they never quit an thats mad respect to them ,,i wasn't to happy with jj at first but he is the coach an you cant do nothing but respect his decision,, its hard to take a loss like that especially you had the lead but it is what it is , see yall next year ,, Go Tigers!!!!

I agree. But they felt that jump was their best shot at winning. Can’t blame them, he’s been lights out almost all season. I don’t blame pitching for the loss. Our bats died and NC had a little luck and magic tonight. How often have you seen the outfielders drop a ball all season? If he makes that catch we are probably looking at a different outcome.

Let me get this right. You win a National Title last year, turn your season around mid season after struggles. Clearly, you guys were a Top 8 seed if you were able to go by how you were playing at season's end (which you can't); and you have fans on hear saying any coaches should be fired after this performance. It gives me some solace to know that you have idiots posting crap just like we do on our boards. We were so fortunate to escape with a win tonight.

LSU fans can be the most fickle fans in the country. We shouldn’t have even made it to a post season but the way we were able to turn it around and make it this far is nothing but admiration coming from me. I’m gonna miss Tommy for sure though. I hope UNC can win it all now. Geaux Tigers.

Jay Johnson is amazing coach...but he blew it in the ninth and tenth inning by leaving in Gage...he didn't cross the finish line this year... but he's amazing and probably one of the best coaches in the Nation. We will win more nattys with Jay

@@teetaunjj7894 But Heller had not pitched much at all, and shut us down completely. Does he get credit for that decision? It is the nature of the job. You make the best decision that you can know your players better than anyone, and sometimes the players come through and some times they do not. On Sunday, we bring in a reliever who walks two straight batters. What a horrible decision by Forbes???? The kid had not done that all season, but crap happens.

Yeah we def have fans like that… a lot of them carry over from football and only watch the post season. You guys have the pitching to win it all, I hope you guys do. Best of luck and awesome regional!

@@landonhill3126 Much appreciated. Funny how the ACC is getting praise for matching the SEC with 5 of 16 left. I would still have to give Tennessee the favorite role....regular season and SEC tournament title is a feat. At this level, our pitching is getting us by, but we will have to step up the hitting a lot. We struggle mightily with a good slider. But one game at a time, and lets see if we can get to Omaha.

I watched this game 3-2 NC had a man on second base one out. Jump had a 1-2 count on the batter. He kept throwing his fast ball down the middle. He should have thrown an off speed pitch out of the strike zone. You don't keep throwing the same pitch down the middle over the plate. LSU'S pitching has been the problem all year.
@yaowei31113 ай бұрын
The reason he kept throwing fast ball is because he only rested for two days. His arm isn’t ready for off speed yet. The off speed won’t have enough spin.

If the ball was caught at the wall this would have been a different out come and these conversations would be different. The players played hard for these past few weeks, Coach gets paid to make decisions that we only make after they don't work in our favor

@countryfriedoutdoors39323 ай бұрын
They been playing lights out for over a month now. If they only played “good” for 2 weeks they wouldn’t have been in the game tonight and the season would have ended before the SEC tournament. This must have been the only game you watched all season, and it shows. This is a very ignorant comment and thankfully you’re not in charge of making any meaningful decisions.
