Take as minimal steps as possible the more steps u take the longer it takes to get to point A to point B and it also wastse unecessarry energy and in a game where the QB has only 3-5 secs to throw the ball and you are going to be running full speed almost every play your in being effecient and quick as possible is key

Weave dril or M drills, really depends on the coach. Everyone has different names for it, but its a basic drill.
