HAL is a very interesting dev team to me. Over the years through various iterations and tests, it's become ABUNDANTLY clear to me that they will NEVER let a good idea go to waste. The various iterations of Kirby in 3D, Morpho Knight, HRD3 and the Kirby GCN trailer theme. If it CAN be made, it's only a matter of time before it is in some form or another. Mad respect to them for being able to even keep track of all their cutting room floor contents to do that.

There's another bit of lost media surrounding the anime that wasn't mentioned here. Like many 4kids shows, Kirby had a sweepstakes for it. Specifically around the time that Kirby and the Amazing Mirror was releasing. Since they were mentioned in this video in the anime portion, I think it's fair to give a huge shoutout to Operation Hoshi no Kaabii! The project has been around for ages (it initially started in 2004, trying to get 4kids to release the series on DVD with a Japanese language option, which went about as well as one would expect lmao), uploading episodes of the anime both dubbed and subbed - The latter of which they made themselves, since no official subtitles version was released! They've got a list of links for both versions of the series, as well as the Japanese raws, on their tumblr blog, with multiple playlists for the dubs in particular, which includes both the original Japanese airing order and the 4kids dub airing order! They're seriously a blessing to anyone who's interested in the anime, and I highly recommend checking their stuff out; some of the subs do show their age and fansub nature, especially the early ones, but the amount of love and effort put into the project shows. Their work is how I really got into Kirby beyond just picking up Air Ride as a kid, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Once again, solid lost media video, LSSQ! :D Kirby Of The Stars is by far one of my favorite Nintendo franchises (even though HAL is the actual creation of the series), and one of my favorite videogame franchises period, and I'm really happy to see Nintendo, and HAL FINALLY make an official 3D Kirby game: "Kirby Of The Stars Discovery"! It looks very promising so far! I love the new "Mouthful Transformations"! I hope it does well enough for future 3D installments! It's pretty cool to see cancelled ideas for potential Kirby games get resurrected in some form, and I hope that continues onward! I don't think I've ever even heard of "Kid Kirby" until just now, but I do love the way the characters looked, maybe some day we'll get to see it in full action! The last image you've shown of Sword Kirby in the 3D environment with the square-shaped platforms looked very similar to the style of Kirby's Inhale Operation on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, which in turn was also based on one of the 2 sub-games from Kirby Of The Stars: Robobo Planet. I wouldn't be too surprised if that's where they got the inspiration from for that spin-off title. I do remember the Game Boy Advance Video cartridges (though I forget if I ever owned any). They were an interesting concept (despite the fact that it was actually an American exclusive only); being able to watch your favorite TV cartoons/movies on the go! Nice that there were even plans for a Kirby Of The Stars anime GBAV too, just a shame it never happened when it was on the air at the time (even if I'm not a fan of how the English dub heavily butchered the show like a lot of kid anime were when officially localized). I look forward to your next video!

I don't know if this would also be considered lost, but when 4Kids launched the Kirby anime, both them and Nintendo were planning to make Kirby the next Pikachu, with a lot of planned merchandising that never went anywhere. I don't know to which extent they planned things, or what potential companies and licenses they were seeking or what they were set to release. What I remember seeing, the only things that ever got released were a Wendy's Kid's meal and a small run of little figural key chains that were impossible to find. As for the anime, I'm surprised Discotek didn't try to get the license for that series, dubbed or otherwise, for home release or streaming. It would probably be like Sonic X or Fighting Foodons and we'd only get the dub series (too edited down for a bilingual original track), but it would at least be something.

Nice video! While this doesn't really fit in.with all the "cancelled" Kirby games, I would like to bring up the status of recovering and preserving the "Kirby no Omochabako" line if Satellaview minigames. Many years ago the majority of these were undumped and with no future release, so they may had fit a video like this. Currently, I am on the lookout for: A "good" dump of Arrange Ball A dump of "Megaton Punch" A dump of "Setsuna no Mi Kiri" The first one has a "bad" dump where it is hard to spot the error, and is very playable otherwise. The latter two are believed to be standalone versions of Kirby Superstar minigames. Also, in various Nintendo press material, alleged screenshots of these games with a score HUD that does not match what was recovered are circulating, suggesting that rereleases with revisions may had been planned. Any more info on that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Besides, with how often games come out anymore, you have people on our side of the community mining new releases for code and beta assets like every week. Actually, it seems that the second cancelled GameCube game got reworked as Kirby 3D Rumble and Kirby Battle Royale. K3DR is a subgame from Planet Robobot where you go through linear stages that look identical to the one in the screenshot but with the Triple Deluxe/RTDL artstyle, spitting stars and doing combos to defeat hordes of enemies as quick as possible. And Battle Royale is a 3D fighting/party game hybrid where you get to choose your own copy ability to compete in minigames against 3 other characters There's also Blowout Blast but for the most part it's basically just a retelling of the first Kirby's Dream Land with 3D Rumble gameplay. Still fun though

unfortunately(or fortunately), that kirby bowl demo was probably on a cart that they used for multiple demos over the years, like how they found oot beta demo content on an fzero demo cart. so either kirby bowl has been overwritten completely or discarded, being lost forever, or it could be hidden at least partially on a demo cart somewhere. as for the air ride 64 game, would be nice if it turned up! same for the kirby tumble stuff i guess. so sad seeing these wips on video but never being able to play them! it was probably cancelled because it excludes consumers that didnt own both a gameboy and a gamecube. they could have maybe packaged the wire with the game but still, not a great business practice, refer to the genesis's multiple addons 19:56 look, a grid! oooo i wanna play that last game! i love the simplistic look of it! there a few details in the foreground too, like an area off screen with a fly, a tree, and some kind of elevator platform, maybe?

I wouldn't say that Kirby Air Ride was the ONLY Kirby spin-off game to be playable in 3D; there's Kirby's Blowout Blast, which in itself is an expansion of the Kirby 3D Rumble subgame from Planet Robobot, and Kirby Battle Royale. Heck, even Kirby's Dream Course could be considered a 3D Kirby game in the same sense that Sonic 3D Blast could be considered a 3D Sonic game, so it could be argued that Kirby has been taking some dips into the realm of 3D ever since 1994! But with that said, Kirby & The Forgotten Land is still monumentally important for the series what with it being a 3D MAINLINE Kirby game and not a spin-off, and as a longtime fan I couldn't possibly be as hyped as I am now. And to think it'll be releasing in just a few weeks...! Also, regarding the topic of Kirby lost media, I'm surprised that Kirby's Toy Box wasn't brought up. For those unaware, Kirby's Toy Box is a series of minigames that were available through the Japanese Satellaview service in the mid-1990s. There were ten games in total, with the first eight being ball-themed minigames and the final two being trial versions of the Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby subgames from Kirby Super Star, which hadn't been released in Japan yet at the time. Now, considering how quite a few games released on the Satellaview have become lost, you'd think that these games (or atleast a grand majority of them) would've been lost to time following the discontinuation of the Satellaview service. Thankfully though, this isn't the case, as over the years eight of the ten minigames have been preserved by various people, with the only two that still remain missing being the trial versions of the Kirby Super Star subgames. Thank goodness for game preservation! If you want more information on these games and what they are like, I strongly suggest you check out the article for Kirby's Toy Box on WiKirby. With all that said though, this isn't too bad for a compilation of various bits of lost media regarding the Kirby series. Great work!

1st 3d game? what about *Kirby's Blowout* Blast and *Kirby Battle Royale?*
@aeroon99912 жыл бұрын
Star Allies also pulls lots of inspiration from "Kirby Adventure" or Kirby GCN as the Fandom commonly refers to it. Also, play Kirby Blowout Blast. It's a 3D Kirby game that resembles the canceled 3D game more than Forgotten Land.

I heard about Kirby Adventure for the GameCube and I never got to it and I though it was a game that would come out but it was cancelled and never coming back and I was sad 😔

I'd like to see them try to make another Kirby Anime series, maybe one that takes place after RBaY so that they already have something to work with, and incorporate elements from other Kirby Games, like new characters, new enemies, new powers, and have the main villain be someone like maybe Zero2 from Kirby64?

Ok about that episode: actually somebody did record the full episode it’s just that the video is split into 5 videos

honestly, there's really not much to wonder and miss from Kirby GCN, since a lot of it became Return to Dream Land (the visuals, Water ability, 4 player co-op, the giant robot boss) and anything that didn't went on to be added to Star Allies (summoning helpers, 4 character stack, the exact same redesign of the Clean ability) sadly, i'm pretty sure none of them had the round golem enemy, so honestly what's even the point /jk

4:00 Wait, Kirby’s Adventure is meant to be Kirby Returns To Dreamland? My copy of the game is CALLED Kirby’s Adventure yet is the exact same as Kirby Returns To Dreamland? Does anyone know why mine is called that? (Edit: I'm aware now that it's just named "Kirby's Adventure Wii" in Europe. Sorry!)
@yamperwolf14786 ай бұрын
In Europe, the game is called Kirby's Adventure Wii, while in America is called Return to Dreamland, but they are the same exact game, only local title has changed between countries
