Getting Real Sultai in a 3v3 Vintage Cube Draft

I know it's probably tough to come back and add the end results for the team overall, but I always feel invested by the end of the draft that I REALLY want to know. Especially given we know your teammates decklists. It would be cool to be able to say "Holy cow, that deck looks busted" and at the end "Welp, that was a dud" Or vice versa of "That draft clearly got derailed" to "OMG HE PULLED IT THROUGH" It's a micro feeling as to the draft you are putting up all of us to see, but as I said, given the length of these and the fact we know what your teammates drafted...I am invested

My friend have an old school cube and it is very fun to draft! He have put 3 copies of each dual lands into it to make sure everyone can play their colour spells effectively! I would like to see an old school cube on this channel someday! 😊🤞

I know you’ve said you’re down on reanimator, but I feel like every time I see you draft it, it seems to overperform. There’s been a ton of cards added that just incidentally play well with the graveyard like Psychic Frog, Barrowgoyf, and Six, which gives these decks a solid backup midrange game plan and means you don’t need as many discard outlets. Sneak Attack, Flash, and Natural Order also feel better than ever with some of the newer targets and make it so that your targets are less likely to get stranded in your hand. On the other hand as we saw in your last video the fatties are so good these days that they tend to be contested heavily, but you don’t need that many for the package to be good.

That sounds interesting on paper… until you play some absolutely terrible games that are less interesting than watching paint dry. Why not play one of a thousand other interesting cubes that exist on cubecobra?

I know I don't have to watch, but I just started, and I'm predicting a losing record in this 3v3 cube after first picking reanimate in this mid range format where less combo cards have the potential of floating around. 270 of the 500 something cards will be shown instead of the 360 in an 8 player. Less of a chance of Entomb, less for other combo decks, less for pure aggro. First pick is Time Spiral, imo.

Isn't Reanimate like the midrangiest of all the combo cards in the cube?? And... if it's hard to pull off a combo deck, why would you pick Time Spiral?

@@LSVargas Hi, lol. Well, I was straining myself to see how I would have won with my Time Spiral deck, tbh. I would have seen some different cards being passed pack two and three but not many. I was thinking maybe untap with Mind Twist if it ever came, I mock took V Clique and some other discard spell, but no, Time Spiral was not a great first pick under my own metric most likely either. I don't know what the best card to take in that pack was. Oh, I picked the Leovold and the Timetwister, stayed black, blue, green, picked that triome, some removal, the Uro and Batterskull to stay alive. I think I brought myself to take the Green Sun's, the Devoted Druid but that was blah. Oh I picked Treachery the first time around, I think it goes up in 3 v 3. At least one Hierarch. You later said you know the combo decks get wonky in the 3 v 3s and I knew you knew that. I just like to gripe I guess. I have to admit no one's deck is going to be amazing, that's true. Take care.

@@yogzi Hi. Well... I wouldn't want to be taking extra damage in a midrange damage race by reanimating some random creature the opponent lost or some three or four drop of my own either. It's a combo card for me. In a league it can get something big from the opponent, not here.

You wouldn't want to pay B and 4 life for a 4 drop or 2 life for Bowmasters, Ajani, whatever else in a midrange, attrition based matchup while playing another 1-2 spells that turn? I just don't get it. Reanimate is fast mana.
