I watch these everyday. That game one was one of the few times I'm fairly confident I would have lost the game and LSV managed to win it. I don't think I would have used my lifetotal as a resource to the degree LSV did, played too passively, and died.

Match 2 wouldnt have letting life/death resolve on grisle brand have been fine? Opponent takes 8. If he tries to give it haste you can bitter triumph. If opponent pays 7 ontop of that hes dead in board to malcom. You would still have ertai in hand
@DieEnteable2 күн бұрын
I think so, too. Could also use ertai to destroy after death resolves instead of trimuph, ends with the same boardstate as LSV did but with opponent at 8 life instead and bitter reunion presumably being gone. Bit of a tossup between being mana efficient and putting on most pressure.

41:30 Hold up Mystic Confluence/Stoic Sphinx instead of tapping out for Shinobi? If Sphinx comes down it's a 3 turn clock with counter backup or a 2 turn clock if he taps low. Still aggressive, but forcing the opponent off sorcery speed options seems much better

Why did he pick remand over lutri ? I mean.there is one lutri and more counterspells in the cube? What do i miss?
@LSVargas2 күн бұрын
I think remand is a lot stronger
@eitansoussan81582 күн бұрын
@LSVargas i understand the point that if the opponent plays a big and you play remand it s" like a time walk "because he redraws it and you draw a card but against someone playing multiple one or two drop it looks weaker than lutri copying push or any removal in the late game. So in which way is it obviously stronger?
@bobboberson8297Күн бұрын
@@eitansoussan8158 remand time walking your opponent is vastly more common than using lutri to double a removal spell

Seeing this instant-speed deck reminds me - what do you think about High Fae Trickster in VC? The flash on sorceries from Teferi, Time Raveler can do some interesting things, and I can imagine it being a wild change up if you could play your entire deck with flash.
@LSVargasКүн бұрын
I think it's too weak unfortunately - it would have some cool moments but four mana for something without an ETB is rough

Love the lunchtime vid! But isn't Twister great with frog? And leaves you open for some kind of combo (like Narcet later). FOW is the goat though..
@TheoryTechDotDek2 күн бұрын
Force is better with frog than twister tbh. Twister with frog is alright if you win immediately, but if you're not winning then you give your opponent 7 shots at an answer to frog. Think about it like this, frog is strongest when it's giving you 2 cards per turn compared to your opponents 1 card per turn. Twister gives your opponent 7 cards. It's almost the opposite of the frog gameplan.
@dementievatz2 күн бұрын
I was thinking about that also. Like the other person said, Timetwister alone isn’t better. I can definitely see looking for other ways to combo with it once you’re down that path though.

@dementievatz2 күн бұрын
I saw that too. I think that kind of land mostly makes your mana worse when it’s for a splash. Drawing a fully off-color tap land is so bad. If it was a Hedge Maze instead, I think it’s something you would consider playing.

28:44 why didn’t you just swing out with all creatures? Wouldn’t that be guaranteed lethal?
@DieEnteable2 күн бұрын
How? They chump sphinx with their flier and take 4 (or 5 if you discard to frog). Next turn you die on the crack back.

Oh, f… lmao. Yeah, math is hard sometimes. I don’t usually make that sort of mistake though.

nope, opp blocks sphinx with the spirit and takes 5 (only 1 card to discard to the frog), then has lethal on the board

Don't get why you love the bat so much. I think it's good too but mostly belongs in some type of Mardu color combinations where you have alot of other creatures, and those creaturs have a fast clock or offer protection to the bat. In this deck since you have so few creatures that kills fast it's so often just going to die to removal. So eventually they are just going to get their card back and it ends up not doing a whole lot. Maybe i'm too low on the card who knows.
@ZacharyBurr21 сағат бұрын
Even if it dies a few turns later it can very often slow your opponent down considerably, as they lose access to their best card for several turns. Plus eating a removal spell is not so bad either. I do agree that it's better in mardu, but I think it's decently strong in any color combo.
@Stokkeland2320 сағат бұрын
@ Yeah, it's a good card and definitely the best of the enter discard creatures. I just don't value it as highly as Emp of Bones and Barrowgoyf or whatever he passed for it. I can't remember. I think the card is not that great just on it's own. Without other threats or counters to protect it in a deck with few creatures it will often just die on the spot. It does require "some" build around to be good. Abit like Figure of Destiny. If you don't have much realistic chances to ever make it a 4-4 it's a pretty mediocre card.
