Unfortunately it's super sacky, sometimes you open like fastbond, forest, 4 lands and a wheel of fortune and sometimes you open fastbond and 6 spells :( I would love to see more of the retro cube they did a while back to give things like fastbond its time in the sun again, but it's way too slow these days :(

Eh, even a year ago, I felt that Fastbond was showing its age. It can be really powerful, but if you either draw a land-light hand, or you top deck it late in the game, it's almost worse than just another land. And Lands specific strategies/combos are reliant on too many pretty shaky cards to be particularly good. Especially in this version of the Cube where you can simply just lose to multiple 2-card combos, it just isn't reliable enough to compete.

@@bricelory9534 Comments like this are why people think Fastbond is weak. It’s not a ramp spell, it’s not even a green card. You guys are playing with it incorrectly and putting it in the wrong decks.

@@funkalunk I think the problem is that fastbond is basically part of multiple 3 card combos and the payoff is generally weaker than the 2 card combos available in this iteration of the cube. Fastbond with wheels or fastbond crucible etc just generally weaker than bowmasters or hullbreacher wheels or flash or breach etc. It's just the wheel decks don't always want to splash green for it now that they have other options and crucible shenanigans is too slow and inconsistent this iteration.

Hi, Luis. I was wondering if you would ever consider doing a "fixed retro cube". What I mean by this is you take the holiday cube from around a decade ago (yes, 2015 is a decade ago), throw out all the garbage (looking at you, Ink-Eyes), and test out how powerful it could have been even back before all the supplementary product. Flash with all the good targets, the lands archetype, Timevault, etc. were all available but weren't added until relatively recently (with the occasional exception of Timevault). I personally think it could be really interesting for us old-heads to see the true potential of the cube we played for so many years despite its obvious design flaws and strange card choices. The slower gameplay due to the absence of hyper-efficient

Agreed balista is particularly good in this deck but I think taking the gemstone mine was reasonable considering the mana situation. He ended up losing games because of mana as it was and the way the pairings ended up I don't think balista would have actually helped against any of his opponents either :/ Honestly more than adding additional synergies for nadu, bristlybill, and luminarch I think Natural order and a good target is more important for decks like this to have a better chance against other combo. I have no idea why LSV doesn't like NO.

My experience with Natural Order lately is that there is so much competition for the NO targets from flash, reanimate, and sneak decks that it frequently is not getting there. You need craterhoof or something less appealing to those other decks for it to make sense as a plan for green heavy decks

@@swiftdragonrider Especially since there is so much competition for the mana dorks these days too, because of Oko, Minsc and Buu, and sometimes Nadu. You will never get the critical mass that you need like you used to in previous iterations of the cube.

Interestingly enough I think that's a reason to have Natural Order higher on your list in the team formats, not lower. Drafting NO let's you take and use several of the targets you'd otherwise pass to an opponent making their Sneak or Flash deck worse. With Nadu as a reasonable target already would just need 1 more decent target to make it great and IMHO hoof was never what you wanted for the target. You're hoping for Atraxa, Woodfall, Worldspine, even Torsten in a pinch is ok. All would be castable with a lotus as well pretty easily. Gives the deck a lot more punch.

Are you not allowed to activate the equipment ability to equip to a creature that equipment is already attached to? Thought Nadu allowed two triggers on itself with Greaves if it’s the only creature in play?

You can, but greaves gives the equipped creature Shroud, so the greaves can't target it.

Match one game two was there an out to holding up Remand, then praying you draw Titania into Wasteland? It gives you quite a few blockers, then you can exile the Atraxa. Opponent is up in cards by a long shot, but you have enough life/blockers and they're potentially mana screwed. You even have Oddity to follow up with.

I feel like Collected Company is starting to power creep back up rather quickly. I know there are probably a hundred cheaper and/or better to picks over it especially early* on in a draft, but with all of these like insane ETB effects these days Company can really move some weight on the board.

Man there was a legendary combo deck in here. We saw Black Lotus, LED, Echo of Eons, Yawg Will, underworld breach, Wheel of fortune ,and Mind's Desire. Nadu Combo obviously is good as well, but I just love decks with LED.

I was gonna type up a whole thing about how you don't mulligan enough, and maybe that's true, but honestly the variance in these games was so deeply unfortunate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have definitely been there, and sometimes it really feels like for a month straight the game just gives all your good draws to your opponents. I respect the mental fortitude it takes to keep playing!

P1P4 I think Duress or Containment Priest are better than Path since removal is plentiful, while anti-combo cards are fewer. Speculating on Natural Order (even just for Nadu can be fine) also probably better than Path.

Agreed I have no idea why LSV hates NO. I think it is one of the best ways for green decks to compete with the other combo out there. With Nadu as a reasonable target already and hope to get 1 more good target. I'm also a fan of Containment Priest as a fantastic sideboard option. Duress not so much here because I just don't think it was likely he wanted to play black.
