LSV saying that Kill Shot was his most drafted card had me questioning everything! Probably only drafted that card 3-5 times…mine was either Thornwood Falls or Snowhorn Rider and ending up in 4-color morphs nearly every time…

Ainok Bondkin isn’t a warrior it’s a soldier so your second round opponent couldn’t draw a card if it hit, one knock against the format was their decision to have both soldiers and warriors in a set where warrior mattered

Mardu is warriors and abzan is soldiers. There was enough warriors to make the deck work. BW warriors was one of the scariest decks.

Yeah, the Sultai art is a bummer. Someone mentioned in another video that it was... essentially done to Disney-ify the faction, to make them look more friendly and cuddly and less like the iconic, awesome art that the game used to have. Kindof a baffling choice for WOTC to make in an era where 'dark fantasy' is probably at its most popular, but then again WOTC has never made poor decisions that have resulted in enormous backfires due to having decision-makers who are wildly out of step with reality.

Arena is weird to watch even in 1080p cards are blurry. Mostly in the deck building stage so not too bad. Wonder if 4k would fix it. Edit: it's greatly appreciated when you mention what the opponents cards do since they're unreadable.

17 lands data is ruining some of the charm and nostalgia of this set. Turns out blue is the worst color and WB (splashing either G or R) is absurdly good. Luis, if you get the chance to talk about it on LR curious how the card win% data compares to your old rank list from PT testing almost 10 years ago.

This seems to show a strong possibility that large segments of the community are doing it wrong. There's a compelling case this time, more than for many formats, that a small group of players with a fundamentally different source of knowledge and understanding are right and the larger trends are wrong-- based on who played a ton of the format 9 years ago and who didn't.

Even a decade ago it was known that sultai was the worst and that warriors was the best. This is still true and supported by the data, but now we have actual card by card data to see. I drafted this set on paper back when it came out, aggro smash in a format of 3 mana 2/2s is of course going to work. @@alexmajor2366

EDITED: This is for those who feel it is ok to insult others or who work at Hasboro - Is it possible to turn the sounds and animation off ? I feel it would be more enjoyable without all the sound effects as they tend to wash out the vocals at times. Also, in my opinion, the animation is a bit much to watch. I understand that most mtg streamers need these effects to fill some space. However, LSV is very insightful and has a natural way of filling the void with intelligent and witty comments, no wiz bang pop needed.

The sound effects I found over shadowed LSVs voice, and I would rather hear him talk about the game state than hearing, boom bang pop! So I was asking, if in fact they can be turned off, because I know that seeing things from others' points of view helps one grow as a person, you know, like learning to be kind to others. He could, yes. He's been a streamer and content creator for a loooong time; it would be a fairly safe assumption that he knows how to control what sound reaches the audience. The fact that he chooses not to should maybe tell you something about what he thinks the majority of his audience's preferences are compared to yours. I suppose that would require being able to think about somebody besides yourself, though.

Khans is fine but also very overrated. I think it was solved pretty quickly, whereas something like Neon Dynasty was amazing even at draft 100.

There are formats that are more interesting to draft, but none with better game play. Morph is an incredible mechanic and they balanced it perfectly. Also, how "solved" can a format really be when there are 12+ viable archetypes and the best-performing one per 17 lands data (Boros aggro) wasn't even a recognised thing when the format was originally drafted?
