Lt. Col. Paul Kari -

Paul Kari was the 12th captured POW in Vietnam.
Paul was an elite fighter pilot who represented the United States against all European NATO countries in a gunnery meet and won; bringing the trophy to the United States. He was shot down over North Vietnam and was the 12th POW captured by the North Vietnamese. He spent nearly 8 years in prison and was on the first plane back in 1973.

I have a news paper the Elyria Ohio's (Lorain, county)" Chronicle Telegram" from March 27, 1970 , your dad's story is on front page next to my uncle's, Lance Cpl. Carris M. Francis USMC, my grandparents & mother had just received news the day before that he was KIA, by chance I just glanced at this newspaper we've had my entire life & read your dad's name and am so happy to see he finally made it home! God bless you all! The article stated you have an older brother & a grandmother that lived 5 mins away from me . I look forward to reading your dad's book! The headline for your dad's article is Spencer flier found in POW camp.

Paul- I met you in Montgomery AL through CAP. In my opinion, the Jesuits got us involved in this. So sorry that you went thru all this.
