A PTO is typically a shaft on a regular tractor, you aren't going to find any attachments that plug in and are electrically ran on a lawn tractor. Besides lawn tractors haven't had a PTO option for at least a couple decades I think. You can run a snow blower on some lawn tractors but I wouldn't consider that a PTO, rather just a redirection of the pulley/belt assembly out the front of the machine rather than to the middle to drive the mower deck. I have a regular XT1 42" gas mower its been great, starting the 4th season with it, no issues at all. I also have a 42" snow blower for it as well, plenty of power to run the blower I just add the rear weight kit, and tire chains and it does just fine. I do want to get the plow blade though at some point. I mow about 3/4 of an acre and use my lawn tractor for other tasks on the property as well as the snow blower so an electric model would be 100% useless to me. I'd have to have 2 different machines, not very cost effective LOL. Hell you can get an XT2 for less than that electric mower costs. For $4k though I'd put that money as a down payment on a Kubota BX2680 with a loader, tiller, mower, and box scraper LOL. Although in my case I may not use the mower deck very often but would be nice to have and go make some money mowing larger properties. Who knows yet LOL, don't have my Kubota BX tractor yet....hopefully very soon and I'll see how it really does trying to mow my yard with a sub-compact tractor. Who knows it may not be as bad as I think, although the loader would have to come off.
@The1025RChannel3 жыл бұрын
Right answer. If you want PTO buy a real tractor. I can't imagine anyone buying a lawn tractor and expecting PTO. Not to mention the fact that PTO is basically useless without a 3 point hitch. No one is going to make attachments dedicated for an electric lawn mower when there's such a small number out there right now.

Good job on this review, and after having this mower for a season I can confirm that the conclusions are spot on. I'm glad I switched to electric, but a Tesla this thing is not (more like the very first Nissan Leaf). And a special word of caution for people with hilly yards: this unit has a "feature" that cuts the power off when you incline the tractor too much (not that much, actually), which means that you can easily get stuck just when you need power the most. Ugh... Still, better than gas.

Just got this exact model yesterday, I'm not an engine guy... not good with maintenance. I've heard this referred to the Tesla of riding mowers in other videos, that is far from the truth. Tesla builds innovation and convenience features into their vehicles, this is a regular tractor modified to work on battery motors instead of an engine. I haven't mowed with it yet, but it seems powerful and sufficient for my needs. I'm not sure if the extra expense is worth it yet, but it does seem solid and I've not been impressed with the Ryobi products in general which is why I chose the CC brand. I'd love to see your review of the bag catcher system which I haven't purchased yet, probably this fall when the leaves demand attention. Thanks for a great video, I agree with everything you said.

How long does the battery last? What do you do if it runs out of juice when you're to far from your house? I have a pretty big yard. I've been told it's a 1/4 acre, but I think it's actually a half acre, all together including the front and back yard, with a lot of obstacles and uneven areas. It's the type of property where a walk behind mower would definitely be out of the question, that's for sure. Do you think this mower would be good for a big property? Does it need oiling? We have a full acre lot (probably about 3/4 acre grass outside the house and driveway) on a 20-degree incline (one end in the river, the other end past our property keeps on going up the mountain). I got all of the navigable parts of it (skipping a few too-steep-to-try-until-I'm-more-comfortable areas) mowed after not having been mowed all summer and with wet grass, with 43% battery left. Also, the battery indicator is right there in front of you the whole time lit up in blue, so it isn't really that hard to keep an eye on and return home if things get low. I can't speak to long-term usage (just bought this), but the manual does state that the wheels should be lubricated (#2 multi-purpose grease) every 25 hours of operation, and all pivot points on the drive system, brake, and lift linkage (all light oil) every 10 hours. Obviously since there is no engine there is no need for oil in the engine. You will probably still want your walk-behind mower for getting around obstacles. Generally speaking, I went from gas guzzler mowers to electric and then battery a little over 15 years ago, and wouldn't go back if they paid me. So much cleaner, more pleasant to use, and just plain less likely to break down! And while the first plugin electrics I bought (mower, trimmer, blower, etc) were underpowered, I find this (and my walk-behind Greenworks mower and other tools) to have as much power to them as my neighbors' dark-cloud-production machines.
@Melissa07743 жыл бұрын

Does anyone know if the chute on the side can be removed to fit the mower between a 48” fence gate?

The chute on the side lifts up to 90 degrees (straight up), but I'm not sure of the overall width of the vehicle after that.

Cyasi you could use a leaf blower that you probably have close by. A pancake compressor for $99.99 at HD would work as well. I’ve never been a fan of putting away a wet garden tractor or any other gardening tools.

Way too expensive if you compare it with the one for 1700 yes I know you don't have to buy gas and change oil but come on guys you don't want to prepaid for the gas for the whole tractor for a lifetime that's stupid as well honestly if it was $2,000 to 2,500 that's a great price point anything over that I'm not interested in it at all I would still go with the Kawasaki engine for a longevity and let's be honest guys like to change their own oil have a couple beers with the neighbor
@sparkfire12233 жыл бұрын
I have had more convos with my neighbors regarding my electric toys, than any oil change ever. It's not a price thing imo, it's a better mowing experience. Also now everything I use is electric.. car, dirt bike , weed eater and riding mower.. it's fantastic

I've been keeping track of fuel usage with my XT1 since I got it. Over the past 3 years I've only spent about $400 in fuel total. If I was going to spend $4k+ on a lawn tractor I'd put that money towards a Kubota BX tractor.

Your land looks flat except for the drainage ditch. How does the lt42e handle cutting in the gully?
@sparkfire12233 жыл бұрын
Hey, So that ditch doesnt look to bad in the video but in person its pretty brutal. I had a John Deere 155c and I would say this handles it much better. The hydrostat on the John Deere did not that hill at all. This mower rocks it really without a problem.
This mower is great when it works, but the failure rate is way to high and their ability to service is way too low. Mine has been to the shop 4 times in 3 years. The last time it was in for 6 months of run around and finger pointing.
@sparkfire12232 жыл бұрын

Not to mention the price got bumped by about $600 😂 $4500 while i can get a gas power for half the price.
@sparkfire12232 жыл бұрын
Enjoy your gas mower! Prices for everything are up I think the original price was like 4,100 right? So its up $500 , or 11% price increase given the state of everything currently is not to bad. At the end of the day the mower is expensive, and if its not for you thats ok.

Planned obsolescence at its finest. I'll bet there isn't a single part on this machine you will find anywhere then through MTD (cub's parent company) and will come with a price to match. Many things in life benefit for being electric a lawnmower shouldn't be one of them.
