LT77 rebuild part 3

The very first time that I did a rebuild on a LT77, I found a little ball bearing in the casing and didn't know where it had come from. After a lot of investigating, I discovered that it was out of the reverse switch plunger. That held me up for a few days as I didn't want to rebuild without fitting it. I learned the hard way, it was a good lesson never to be forgotten. Thanks for the memories. Best wishes from Yorkshire Rob..

I know what you mean, I was the same with power steering boxes until I started to take photos so I knew which way the parts went when I was rebuilding them. BUT!!! That was yesteryear, All the best to you Mike.

The idea is to get the parts you need first then do it in the same day when it is fresh in your mind

Fantastic video Mike love watching your videos, in the series rebuild you lathered it in red grease as you built it but not this one. Any reason or because the series gearbox was older?

Hay muster I see your infomation about ger box LT 77 but ... cystem fork it's not isy to install with cancro in ger...betwin furst ger and 2 ger...? I do dath befour in my box but I see your vedio thankfully for you infomatoin......?

As you say, a really interesting design. Reminded me of rebuilding a Cooper S gearbox, also quite an intricate construction. What was not interesting was going down to the local Mann Egerton dealer and paying rather a lot of money for spares, such as a new layshaft. Not funny on apprenticeship wages. Happy days though, well some of them were!

When I do a box I want to do it start to finish in one go - strip, check, new parts on the shelf and assemble while it is fresh in your mind, but this has been stop start from the get go

You have to be careful showing diagrams from books... copyright issues can arise and KZbin will punish you! Do your own drawings and they can't moan.
