I think it just can't be a run. If you tilt the left stick slowly so you just kinda walk, I think it'll do this. Don't have my switch on me right now to double check. Not exactly a tech you try to learn. lol

@Eric Chung18 it's performed by walking towards the ledge, it's just that luigi's walking animation looks as if he was running. If you don't have stick jump, an easy way to perform it is by holding your left stick upwards and slide it to the side you want your character to walk, if you perform it correctly, walking won't allow you to fall from ledges, platforms included
