He’s got similar problems as little mac. super powerful stuff, but really weak disadvantage. That’s why mac can seem to have a lot of potential, same as luigi here, but in the end, it will likely lead to inconsistent results

The rest have fixes that the player can do to make it less of a weakness and more like and advantage. Like luigis grab lag , he can really start up some good combos but it can be a major backfire if missed. That's why before you grab you do a little mini onockback move like a fireball. It works

Zero_OR 5 im going to get specific here. luigi has critical flaws that make his gameplay restricted. his high short hop, slow fall speed, and bad air mobility make jumping generally not an option worth going for since its more rewarding staying grounded. this also makes luigis landing much more difficult. i believe what you think his habits are include rolling or opting to down b out of combos too often. the reason why using these options as often as elegant does are NOT bad habits is because luigis flaws in the areas i talked about are so bad, they make these options relatively incredible, when compared to his other options in the same scenarios. if luigi is getting up air stringed by mario, then the mario intentionally stops the up airs to bait out down b, an luigi down Bs, how is this option any worse than luigis other options? air dodging comes out later than frame 1 and can be punished almost as hard as down b if the opponent chases him, jumping will force luigi to land without a doublejump, which is bad because of bad fall speed and mobility, and he can get hit offstage with no doublejump. also think of this: whats the biggest punish luigi can get from doing down b? if he is drifting away, he often can escape off a platform or offstage to avoid any punish at all, and even if he has no where to escape, luigi drift will force opponents to use conservative punishes like grabs or maybe an uncharged smash attack. even if the luigi knows that the mario will bait it out, opting to down b still could be a viable option for these reasons. the same applies for rolling. luigi could opt to jump over, or dash where he was planning to roll, but since luigis jumps are bad and since dashing doesn't immediately give luigi the positioning he wants to get the big hits and grabs, it is more rewarding for luigi to roll even if they know the opponent will read it.

it was even better because he got the platform extension which lead to an up tilt up b (I didnt even know that was true or if it was a mix up) and then finished it off with landing nair into up b after reading Luis going down to the stage rather than the platform or air dodge. Honestly it was a pretty insane sequence
