Step by Step Installation of an LTH V3.0 Reed Valve on a Mugello 198 Lambretta Cylinder.

Step 1: The the cylinder torqued down and piston installed with no rings, mark the sides and each side of the bridge in the port on the piston as they pass through the intake port.
Step 2: Measure the upper and lower window heights from the bottom of the piston:
36mm to top of window
20mm to bottom
Step 3: With piston marked, install again, torque cylinder down and make sure everything lines up
Step 4: Cut holes out of piston. Make sure window corners have rounded edges and chamfer the edges on the windows when done. I suggest wet sanding it as well just to make sure all the burrs are removed.
Step 5: Follow reinforced guide on the inside of the piston to determine height and shape of skirt to be removed. (Mugello pistons are reinforced already so simply follow the pattern and trim skirt. Again chamfer edges and wet sand.
Step 6: Test fit to make sure everything lines up. Adjust as necessary.
Step 7: Connect boost port above intake inside cylinder to the intake port. You will need diamond coated files and rotary tools to perform this as otherwise you will chip the Nikasil. You can choose not to do this as it will run fine but may lose some performance.
Step 8: Trim fins near intake to get necessary clearance for manifold
Step 9: Match manifold and intake port transfer area
Step 10: Clean everything well and install. Finish by trimming the cooling shroud to fit. Torque specifications on the Mugello 198 with 7 bolt head are as follows:
4 Cylinder studs: 18-19 ft/lbs
3 Cylinder to head studs or bolts (depending on version) 16 ft/lbs
