I have the same quad as well. Clean out all the fuel lines, start at the bottom of the fuel tank, swirl filter, fuel pump and the injector. Make sure OEM injector and spark plug. And make sure the spark plug is properly gapped !!! Very important OEM !!! Clean the old fuel injector with starter fluid and a battery to open it, look at the spray pattern, check KZbin for videos. Make sure your battery has enough cranking power, buy a Glass type more cranking power, do all of this and it should fix the problem.... it did for me.

Kenski 001 dude I’ve been battling this problem. I just pulled the fuel system pretty much, pulled the injector , swirl filter , and fuel pump. Fuel pump seems to be in great shape . As far as the injector I watched the videos but don’t have the materials to clean it. I’m hoping an oem spark plug and I’m thinking of doing a swirl delete and doing an inline filter . Not sure yet but hoping it fixes the issue

@@jovans9238 May I suggest just getting two alligators clips and using them on the fuel pump and fuel injector to see if they operate. Also, redo the gas if it is stale gas. Make sure you have spark, before you put the new one back in, plug the sparkplug in and hold it close to the frame and try to start it, look at the spark. Prior to all of this open the air filter box remove the filter and spray a little starter fluid, not a lot but enough to hear the engine start to turn over. When you have your spark plug out check your compression as well. When my quad turned over without the plug in it, a bunch of dust came out. I hope these suggestions help you out. I’m having a problem with my LTR450. Quad runs great.. but starting it is the major problem it won’t start under the power of the battery , it has to be hooked up because of how much I have to crank it over. I have to give it gas just in the right spot. It back fires a lot. Once it gets running and warmed up it runs fine and will start right up under normal battery power ... please I have looked everywhere and can’t find much information on this problem any solutions?

Kyle Leitch check your valve clearance sounds like you intake is tight spec is between .10mm-.20mm

I'm having the same problem with my ltr 450.. I did a rebuild around this time last year.. It ran good all summer and fall... It sat up for the winter (about 4 months) now I got bogging when hitting the throttle hard..but Mine is not the spark plug tho.. I got brand new ngk.. Brand new fuel pump.. Only thing that's old is the injector..

I got a 07 ltr450 and the problem I’m having is I get get it to start and run for like a couple seconds. And if I’m lucky I can rev it a couple times but then it always dies out and won’t start back up until it sits for a while. I still have to swirl filter but I think I’m gonna delete that cause it looks pretty gross from just the outside. Any pointers you can give me to help out with my fuel problem?

Sounds like a fuel problem the swirl filter is what it is a filter that can get dirty you can take it apart and replace it. Bypass it and see if the quad runs better gonna have to use some sort of auxiliary tank. Let me know the results

Hey man dont know if your on here anymore but my 06 ltr ran perfect and I jumped it and died wont start up anymore does have fuel pressure and is getting fuel i checked the tip over sensor and it's good not throwing codes and its getting spark and injector works

Kyle Fayette so the battery was dead if so you will need a good battery for the bike to run properly the electronics for the bike runs of the battery and stator the problem I was having was had a good battery bad stator the issue I was having went away but came back after a couple rides turned out that the stator was going bad it didn’t completely die but was going bad hope this helps

New to the ltr450. Mine won't idle. But if on gas it starts,but runs ruff. When this started it was on otherside of town. It was running ruff but when I was on the gas ran fine. If I unplug tps it will fire up and idle. I put new swirl filter on cleaned fuel pump filter and fuel injector also.

You will need to back prop the tps sensor +yellow and -B/be turn key on should get .58-.62 vdc if nothing your fi light should be on and you would have to put the bike in dealer mode to find out what else is going on

Hey man I’m almost having the same problem mine crank over but it ain’t getting fuel I change new timing and tensioner and revalve it and timing jump it’s getting spark but not getting fuel or it maybe the power commander but I don’t know lmk

Take the fuel line off the pump and make sure your getting a supply of fuel to it you have a shut off valve at the bottom left of the tank if that’s fine make sure you hear the pump turn on if that’s fine hook everything back up but take the injector out and hook it up to the system outside the throttle body and make sure it’s working

Man I got a 07 lt450r I had a complete rebuild last summer got it back ran great rode it maybe a hour put in the garage got it out last week didn't want to start when it started up ran a minute shut off tried to start back took a while like no fuel put new pump new swirl filter started right up ran 5 minutes doing it again what do you think I seen where you had a plug fix yours lost at this time

Did you have the valves shimmed when it was built and is the fuel pump turning on. Make sure you fuel valve is open all the way.

I did all that but I put a clear fuel line in and I seen as it runs the fuel stops flowing pop the gas cap and it flows again its like it getting vaper lock in the tank some how

Your correct make sure you vent in your fuel cap is working it a one way check valve

i have a 2008 ltr 450 and it will starts up an runs but hit the throttle and dies. But if i put my hand over the air box it will let me open the throttle up can't figure it out please help thanks in advance

Make sure your enricher/choke cable holder is all the way in sometimes these get stripped out cause it’s only plastic I found a company on eBay that makes a block off pug but you can also use a choke from a mikuni carb just a pain trying to pull it if you need it

Have a simular issue. Changed the plug. Worked good for about 2 days.then back to bogging out. Since then new injector, swirl delete was already done. But now the problem is on and off. Doesn't have full power like before. 06 ltr 450.. Any pointers. Already in the whole 600 from a shop. 😒

try check your electrical fuses by the battery, mine were all rusted, couldnt start would die out and splutter. aswell as the connections on your battery, my lights were all dim only getting 5v from battery, so cleaned them off, wired in new fuses to get better contact. Started first pop.

Change your fuel filter make sure you have max fuel pressure. Try to stick with NGK spark plugs.

Is the fuel regulator necessary to run being that it puts the right pressure or ?

Yes if no regulation it will be all over the place kind of like a garden hose with no end to regulate the spay either gonna be too much fuel or not enough

Arturo Castro yes fuel pump was sending the right amount of fuel but the pressure was off I actually used a fi pressure test kit and another pump from a working Ltr450 did a swap and both checked out the only thing you can take out is the swirl filter everything else is needed to run correctly

I have an 07 ltr, just did the swirl filter delete, it cranked up fine that day right after i did that but after a couple of days it went right back to taking multiple tries to crank and having to play with the throttle and shutting off while running in neutral. But after it warms up some it cranks up and runs fine. Is this the same problem you had? If so i will just change the spark plug

Jordan Middleton if it dies up after it warms up try looking at you compression and of it smokes could be time for rings also check your intake valves might be time to shim

sleeperacing doesn’t smoke and the compression is good when it idles after it warms up. It’s just having that problem cranking up after multiple tries and giving it gas then after the first or second crank it will idle fine and strong

Yeah I would check the valve clearance especially on the intake side this one sent me through hell and back had to replace the stator now it runs like a champ

Yeah man my LTR is acting up like that. Spitting sputtering n head pipe gets hot while riding. Done the swirl delete n All that stuff. I'm going to get the injector hopefully this week. That's what I been told. If u have anymore info on my 06 LTR drop me a line [e-mail] or on here. Thx

I use that same plug in my bike and that is the correct plug it's an e3 diamond fire plug that's what Nascar uses it's not out of anything else that plug is the correct plug I use NGK iridium NGK standard I've never noticed much of a difference other than iridium plugs don't seem to last very long
