First, thanks for letting an old guy (65) ride along with the young studs again. I just pretend that my 65% FTP trainer ride matches up to your 300 watt runs. Second, I admire your guts and perseverance in the single track. It’s tough to come back from eating dirt and not just say “to hell with it”. I look forward to riding with you again.

Watching that first single track section on full play back game me PTSD. So gnarly!! Really appreciate the full race upload. Way to smash it!

Were we watching the same video that was not gnarly look at a mtb trail mainly dh and you’ll find gnarly
@robrigg80458 ай бұрын
@@MTBMatty1237 It was pretty gnarly on a GRAVEL bike, and all the Pros who crashed probably feel the same way . . . But totally agree with you that in the context of what GNARLY is for riders who rip trails on their Dual Sus or DH MTB that was tame. Horses for courses.

I rode this race in 2020. My favorite BWR. I also missed a turn late. The organizers should realize that fatigue affects riders late in races and put signs at every turn late in races.

Really enjoying this ! Long time hard core roadie (ITT main) but lately considering hoping over to gravel ... By the way I'm 51 and still racing ...
@jgoettl2.08 ай бұрын
Love it! I started as a roadie/ snowboarder so off-road merges the two and gravel is my favorite!

No problem and thanks for watching! Happy I’m able to help! The skratch super fuel is awesome for racing and high intensity training days/ race aim efforts! I go with there regular hydration mix for endurance days and pair that with bananas and maple syrup!

Great quality! I can't seem to get my uploads to look so sharp once uploaded. What kind of settings are you using?
@jgoettl2.08 ай бұрын
I had this issues as well, I switched to uploading in Apple pro res 422LT which seemed to help, but these are just h.264 to keep the file size smaller. I think since my channel has increased in popularity I get the better codec. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2K2dmifbL6tecksi=gTpiOQ-fwt32HH33

what size big chainring and range cassette were you running?
@jgoettl2.04 ай бұрын
48/36 rings and 10/36 cassette. I’ve switched to 1x this year though so I can run bigger tires (SRAM red front derailleur limits you to 42c). Plus for unbound I don’t want a front derailleur! Have a 46 up front and 10-44 in back now, ideally I’d do a 50 up front and 10-50 in the rear

Why riding gravel bike, rather than MTB?
@mariannejacot16686 ай бұрын
after having watched mountain bikers on mountain of hell and peter rudge in oregon this is rather boting, the landscape and rider riding mostly on normal streets where car could drive.
