Lu Carbyn Speaks on the Impacts of Spraying Bti

Nature Alberta Vice President, Lu Carbyn, addresses Edmonton City Council on the impacts of spraying Bti in the river valley and city wetlands to control the population of mosquitoes. The City of Edmonton had recently voted to stop aerial spraying of Bti over wetlands but ground spraying continues. Bti kills both mosquitoes and non-biting midges resulting in negative impacts on wetland food chains, ecosystems, and local biodiversity.
