I think one of the best ways to show students of parkour how difficult parkour is, is by asking them to link 3 different basic vaults together with smooth steps in between the obstacles. I've taught the same class with the same set up of vault boxes for like 5 weeks in a row before focusing just on this, playing around with the variation of vaults, and when they nail it, they feel the difference. Recently, this happened with a student where they had this 'wow' moment, and all of a sudden, me as a coach, I could see their style. They went from "beginner style" to their "unique parkour style" for a moment. I think this is my understanding of flow. Thanks for the video as always Luis, brilliant to hear from Phosky also!

Like Phosky said. I too like to train the basics, always. I don't normally plan a run. I just think of a destination and go to that point using my abilities. Then, after the run, I look back a think how could I have done it better, and start fixing steps, or changing some movements for others...

Flow is also a state of mind. Being able to focus all your attention and energy of your body on the moves that you are doing. The least you think the more natural your movement will be and the more flow you will have.
