We never got the Dynamax Regigigas episode/episodes because Pokémon Journeys was suffering from production issues. It's the reason for the recaps and breaks during the Masters 8 tournament, however it only gave the anime staff enough time to work on the Ash and Leon battle, but not enough for the planned Project Mew team vs Dynamax Regigigas battle, hence why the Project Mew final we got had little action and mediocre animation. It always bothers me when people think the Dynamax Regigigas was a lie, when if you actually paid attention and realized that there were problems going on, you realise the reason why it was never shown.

Amazing video! I’ve always thought project mew had potential, but the ending really made it fall apart, harder than the unova league! It’s also impressive on how much the writers messed up that climax.

I really enjoyed Project Mew as a Mew fan, but I agree with this take. The Regigigas tease was highway robbery & more mission episodes featuring older characters taking place over all those filler episodes would've been a good decision! I'm also really glad they didn't nerf Mew like they have in the past, but I believe this is the 1st movie Mew which makes sense unless that's just my headcanon?

I Think The problem with project Mew It was To Close to Ash’s final match in the masters 8 if they did project mew early on in Journeys it would never be so rushed but That’s just me

Journeys had so much potential to be phenomenal with it being the conclusion of Ash's journey after 25 looong years. Just wished the writers took that reality into consideration and executed things a little more better with slower pacing 😭 Still rewatchable tho just like this vid 🔥

I wish Ash join the project Mew I miss Him and Gary's rivalry also it's be a great plot twist that Mew choose Ash to battle it because of his pure heart and captured it and not Goh (Thank goodness for that.) It's be a better send off then what we have now. Journey as a hole feels like a waste of time not even him winning the championship save it in my opinion and it's being Ash last adventure put a sour in my mouth.

I enjoyed project mew but even i agree it was alil late and jn is definitely my least favorite series. Too much kanto, galar got shafted and i felt so burnt out of all the characters. I enjoyed them but some of them felt overdone or disappointing.

How about if they did finding the Cinnabar mansion, learning about Blaine and Fuji, then going to meet the alive Fuji after Blaine discloses his location who still has the map to the island they found Mew DNA at which is the Old Sea Map from Emerald to go to Faraway Island and encounter Mew In between they find Mewtwo because of Cinnabar Island logs and also clash with Team Rocket during the whole Mew/Mewtwo pursuit Then add in learning about the Mew Z crystal and trying to do a trial for it against Totem Ditto who transforms into Mew and maybe ally Mewtwo

Journeys started very promising, but ultimately flopped hard because of many missed opportunities, poorly handled with returning/debut characters and pokémon, and even Galar was wasted and much nostalgia bait!
