Great video!! I have the exact same model and it has been running for 6 weeks. You have just reconfirmed my thoughts on it being a good purchase. 900 hrs on a single set of blades is impressive. I believe it is recommended to change them every 150 hrs although you can rotate and flip them. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

Real life experience with Luba 1. Bought it in May 2023, mowed 3 acres weekly until a hall error caused the front wheel to spin uncontrollably. Never dropped it or went for a swim. I sent it back in the beginning of October '24 and have heard nothing back from them since. That's 2 day shipping and it is on their doorstep. When I called them (3 weeks later) they told me they hadn't received it. Tracking number said otherwise. I have 4 seasons here, I need to put charging station, etc away for winter. Nov. now, still no word. Will I ever see it again? So, in case they decide to stop making Luba 2 as well, keep your rider and wait until they become a legitimate company that stands behind their product or -at least keep you informed- because from what I am experiencing, you may be dropping $3000 for a prototype that is great when it works, but they won't repair when it malfunctions. A giant paper weight. An update to be fair: 11/22 They are sending me a refurbished machine. But it really has been 2 months over a repair request.

Excellent video Justin! Can't wait to see more follow-up videos on the Luba. We're in a similar position as you - we have around 2.5 main acres around the house we'd like cut, but still have an additional 2 or so acres we'd like the luba to handle as well. Definitely a huge bummer that the acreage limit is capped where it is. We've an 850ft driveway flanked with grass on either side (2ish acres) that we're hoping Luba will be able to tackle, IF it can reach and IF we end up going with Luba. Grateful for videos like yours. 👌🏻

I thought about the Luba 2, but the blades that can't mulch were a deal breaker, and the acreage cap on models with identical hardware sort of rubbed me the wrong way. I see a lot of reviews similar to this where the headaches start adding up on this. Yuka sounded interesting due to sweeping ability but again the blades are not able to mulch. I just signed up for the kickstarted on the Lymow One, because to my knowlege it appears to be the first one with actual mowing blades, with decent speed, battery and up to 4 inch mowing height. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

@@funkybunch81 I hadn’t heard about that yet. What’s the price point?
@funkybunch814 ай бұрын
@@MrJustinWheeler Kickstarter is lower price point. I'm paying I think $1699 for the first run adopters. Next tier I think gets for $1899 and probably just over 2k for normal market, but don't quote me on that. May want to keep your eye open for that one. I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

Love the review. Can I ask you about the perimeter run option? I want to scare geese off my lakefront property. Can I run the lawnmower just on the perimeter as an option (I'll do a full cut another day). I want it to act a a sentry a few times a day and scare the geese - especially when I affix a plastic fox on the top of it.

Do you have to use a SIM card, and if so, what's that price ?? Does the RTF unit have to stay powered once you set it up, if its unpowered do you need to reprogram the mowing area ?
@MrJustinWheeler5 ай бұрын
@@jimwildasin4464 a SIM card is not necessary, so I’m unsure of the cost. They aren’t very expensive, but do have a monthly fee. I haven’t needed to use one though. It could be useful though in areas with poor wifi signal. Yes, the RTK has to stay powered on at all times, regardless of WiFi or cell connectivity. You don’t have to reprogram after a power loss to the RTK, but the RTK needs power during the mowing process.

Excellent video, love the detail and the production value. Sounds like mammotion has many improvements to make for Luba 3. The hardware seems pretty robust overall, aside from a few tweaks. Be interesting to see what the issue is if/when you hash it out with support. I ended up going with a 4G sim from Tello for mine, mostly because I'm paranoid of it being stollen. Only 1 acre here, so it doesn't get that far out. Figured while I was at it I'd do an outside wifi mesh point too. Posted anything on the official Mammotion Reddit?

Mammotion staff are practically non-existent on the subreddit - unless it is a user or operator issue, there is no support to be found there - after sales support is almost 100% community driven, which is bullshit given the mower's pricepoint

Kickstarter owner of the Luba 1 - 100% echo everything said in this video - I will not buy another Mammotion mower once this one dies (already sent off for repairs multiple times, mower will be a brick once my warranty expires) Reinforcing Mammotion's software and customer service are -horrible- The video also shows the massive amount of turf wear along the boundaries where the Luba performs it turnarounds - these areas will be damaged, rutted and reduced to dirt - current turning algorithm is way too aggressive on the turf

Change your turning to zero turn does better job round trees
@ayo30s5 ай бұрын
Someone already told u about changing to perimeter back to charger. I think you should clean it more often, it’s so small, takes 10mins to clean and flip the blades, using all 4 sides of the blade. I found some blades for a fraction of the cost on Alibaba and the screws fit although I haven’t had to use them yet. Also I zip tied a Ring Camera to the onboard camera cos the Ring is connected to all cameras around the house, so when on is triggered they all record that moment. Plus the Ring Camera has an alarm “added security” I totally understand TIME VS MONEY but these mowers are extremely overpriced. These things can only be bought by ppl who really need them. Outside of the developed world no one can afford them and only an extremely low percentage of ppl can afford them in the developed world, so I guess they want to profit only of a few ppl… 2 tiny motors, a gps and a motherboard for 3K with extremely limited service and have to BEG my brother or neighbors to go save my robot while I’m at work. Finally, mine struggles to find the charging station for some reason after the unnecessary updates, just goes round in circles then shuts off… Great video and summary of your experience, thx 👊🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
