I like Lucas' approach to learning languages. He also seems like a very honest polyglot who isn't trying to sell you a product or benefit in any way from you. Keep it up!

Nice video as always. Luca have you read any books in Chinese?
@andymounthood8 жыл бұрын
I keep a few easy novels in the language I'm learning (currently French) next to me on the couch where I watch TV. At some point, I switch off the TV and read in French, and when I'm in no mood for reading, I switch back to TV (or another activity). Having more than one book means if I lose interest in the book, I have another and can quickly continue reading. In this way, I've cut down on my TV-watching time and read 40 short French novels over the past two years. Suddenly, my speaking fluency and listening comprehension greatly improved with little effort once I read 40 short books in French.

Good morning Lucca, I highly appreciate your videos and your life as a polyglot. You're such an inspiration to me, and for that I am really grateful. Could you please give me some piece of advice? My mother tongue is Spanish, and I want to become a polyglot myself. I studied English the hard way and spent so many years in that task to the point that I have no idea how I ended up learning it. Now I want to embark on my French learning process. How can I begin and which resources should I utilize since I have no money at the moment? What would you do? Thank you so much for reading this and I look forward to hearing from you. Have a blessed day!

I realize you weren't asking me but another polyglot (Judith Meyer) has a US$5.99 Amazon Kindle e-book called _72 Ways to Learn French for Free_ which might interest you. I just remembered it from reading your comment.

Great tips Luca! I watch all your videos and I'm always inspired and impressed. I don't know if you meant to film it this way but if you would like your videos to fit in the KZbin player the way most videos do, you will have to turn your phone on its side. Then your video will be filmed in landscape mode and will be upload-able as such. Thanks again for all of your advice.

Hi Luca, just a curiosity: what is your reading speed? mine is really, really low, 100 WPM. It's unbelievable, the average-reader speed is 250 WPM, and some people even read at 800 WPM. But I think it's normal since I've never really been a "reader", I've only got into it this year, and even so, didn't read much because again, I'm very slow. Did your reading speed increase ever since you became a reader?

I'm assuming this tip is for more advanced learners of a language. Because me just translating every word for 15 pages will take me more than 30 minutes, I think.

What about reading a book without understanding all vocabularies? .. Is it a good idea or way to improve too?
