loveley, used to listen to this piece at night alone, walking around parks, roads and ocean cliffs. Really can feel the music.

There will never be a better performance of this piece because the two brothers play as ONE MIND. They bounce off each other. Totally precious and rare

I love that final B flat major chord with the added dissonant 7th. Just more of that Poulenc cheeky wit combined with his unending beauty

God when will we be able to sit with 2000 people together and enjoy beautiful music is this beautiful hall not being afraid to get infected with a stuped virus that makes our lives so miserable. Some day we can. It will be one of the best in my life.

Of course Poulenc embraces the transcendent innocence of Mozart, a contemporary and welcome update

I noticed that the opening sounded a lot like the Romance from Mozart’s 20th Piano Concerto but I learned it was intentional by Poulenc to show appreciation for master Mozart.

Mozart? Poulenc? Gershwin? Wherever we meandered here, you made each style authentically recognisable. Great journey both of you. Thanks, Merri

Poulenc’s inventiveness and harmonies are one of the reasons why I generally prefer French to German music. No coincidence that Berlioz is my favourite composer :-)

Fortunately Poulenc is getting much more exposure now and not before time. Endless performances of Beethoven/Brahms/Schumann/Tchaikovsky piano concertos becomes tedious and there are many fine works out there which are much in need of being heard more often.

It’s supposed to be extremely light and airy, as if it were a whisper of something to come. It’s not this large sweeping Germanic score. It’s a petite, Parisian chamber piece
