Fernando Hernandez is a third-generation Lucchese bootmaker who prefers to do things "old school." So old, in fact, that his sewing machine is one of the most antique in the Lucchese factory -- from the 19th century.

I wear personalized Lucchese Classics and have several pairs. I know the quality of the product, the retail stores and the people who work there. To hear the sound of this artisan's voice and the reverence with which he speaks of his work tells me volumes about the legacy that is this company. Mucho bueno, mi amigo! I've seen this kind of craftsmanship in person at the Lucchese production facility... it is something to be very proud of and the tradition should continue for years to come. Hand made in the USA.

That's why they're such high-quality western boots. The whole western/ vaquero culture was started by Mexicans in Mexico and when Anglos came in from the east in the 1800's they stole the cowboy culture for themselves and called it "borrowing" ideas. Nobody makes better western boots then Mexican craftsmen. Whether they're made in Mexico or the USA they're almost all handmade by Mexican artisans. Without Mexicans the whole western/ vaquero culture would not exist to begin with. Just go to any cattle ranch especially in Texas and you'll see most of the work is done by Mexican workers instead of workers from other ethnicities.
