I have had around 7-8 for years and it’s awesome for camping and just a survival “ lamp “ because it’s so small and it gives off a good amount of light

We have had 2 of those for quite a few years and they go on every camping trip we go on.

I’ve had the simpler version for years and years. It usually lives on the dashboard of my van… always charging. Use it while camping a lot. Use it for working in dark areas where it would be annoying to have a corded light or bigger light as well. One of my favorite features is that it cuts off after about 4 hours on its own…

I second that. I've had mine for about 4 years, they live on the dash of my RV. They work great. All the campers in my family got them for Christmas gifts. My only complaint: they should put a few ridges in the plastic over the on/off switch so you can feel where the switch is in the dark.

That's GREAT! I'm new to solar and worried that the heater sun blasting through glass could creat a fire hazard !

@@Michelle-n7f Good point! I never thought about a fire hazard. It frequently makes it into the 90's here in the summer. They've been on my dash for all that time without problem. Hope you enjoy them!

I love all the headlamps and the little lanterns they are great but man I really really really really really really wish they would stop putting the flashing lights on their. I've never ever had to use one in my lifetime I wish the red would just stay on instead flashing.

i got one in my kit , you got to have solar/ hand cranked in a shtf scenario. Batteries run out and something like the thor fire is perfect.

I have used the Luci lights over the years, be aware that for use outdoors, you want to make sure you get the waterproof one. There are some that are not waterproof. Now I use the Crush light from Goal Zero, they are about the same price and I don't have to worry about pin holes in them. I have had luci lights not stay inflated. I would love to see you review a Crush Light. It is good to hear that they offer some that charge via USB now, they didn't in the past.

hi Scootch, quick error correction.. You said a couple times that LUCI has no batteries, but it does have a battery which is how it's able to light up at night. I believe it is a flat lithium ion battery. I know you really meant no heavy or awkward batteries. BTWI have used LUCI lanterns for more than a decade. I have 3 of them and really like them. I keep one in a car, one in the RV and another in a GoBag...I've used them in the house several times (when the power goes out) and for outdoor ambience for evenings outside or camping. It's a great light for kids to carry around since it's fairly durable and drop proof. I can tell you that a dog can put a hole through the plastic if they want too. I just slapped some clear strapping tape on the holes and it still works great.

These are a bit over priced. On Amazon UK they are £17 the solar section is very similar to the units you get every year for £1 - £2 for sticking in the garden. Ok these do have different modes and are brighter ( that could be due to the inflatable section ) but effectively 6 - 8 times ?
