Pavarotti senior is 88. Pavarotti junior is 66. Who the hell cares how the old man sings. He obviously was a great singer once and that's where Luciano got his talent from. I used to run for a bus once! My father died aged 61 and his father was 39! Every father should have a son that looks at him as Luciano looked at his father. I'm crying as I write this. RIP together Pavarottis.

Oh. This makes me cry. Singing with his father is so touching! To be able to do that would be as sentimental and memorable to me as if I had the ability to sing with my late mother, a Clasically trained Coloratura Soprano. I had very little of her ability to sing. She had such a beautiful voice that, when she sang, she often made people cry. She had the Coloratura's power and seemed, also, to have the sweet tenderness of a Lyric Soprano in her voice. I miss her so much, just as I miss my father. His PTSD from combat in two wars and imprisonment, after capture on suspicion of spying, then, later, as a POW in a special camp for Air Corps Officers, was calmed by her singing to him. I remember his peaceful, pleasant relaxation, as he listenened to her play our piano and sing at home during so many years of my life. God bless both Messrs. Pavarotti and my parents, wherever each may be tonight!

I know, I have commented on this video many times but the confusion that is being created in this video is because, Fernando dosnt want his own son To NOT HAVE the lead in this song! Fernando is simply surrendering the lead to his Son, simply because he wishes his son to be the leader! This is such a sweet and Beautiful video.

gmaureen you are right and he did. I think dad was quite nervous here as well as being considerably older. He wasn’t used to singing in a setting like this. - I just love how Luciano looked on with love and encouraged him to go on. I think if I had been the pianist I would have stopped playing and allowed them to sing naturally a Capella.

I was there, one of my best memories of Luciano-he made sure his own voice would never cover his dad's. This recording was also played during Luciano 's funeral. It was heart-rending,they were together again.

edelweis232 no te equivoques...lee el titulo del youtube, Fernando era su padre, dice Luciano Pavaroti and father (father padre....hermano se dice brother), y murio a los 90 años en 2002..fijate tu que la diferencia de edad, fisicamente hablando es notable..Luciano no tapa en ningun momento a su padre, y lo anima viendo a su padre tan longevo, a aun así tratando de cantar a la par de el.Mira tu en Wikipedia Fernando fue panadero, nació en 1912, y era tenor aficionado, que alentó a su hijo a cantar.
