You must be very proud of Luciano. He just oozes charm, is funny and has the greatest Bel Canto tenor voice since Beniamino Gigli. His great voice and wonderful legato line moves me to tears as it is so beautiful. Fernando was the same. I am so very sad that Luciano and his lovely parents are no longer with us. Fernando also had a beautiful voice. I am a Libran, like Luciano, and studied Bel Canto singing. I did not become professional, but was invited to sing as bass soloist on several occasions with choirs - I am a bass baritone - and have always been very serious about my singing. I inherited my love of singing from my parents and grandparents who were also fine singers. My grandfather was a fine baritone and my father a fine bass and my mother a fine soprano. Your Rossini Chorale make a wonderful sound. I now sing with a renowned Welsh male Choir, the Neath Male Choir, and we rehearse on a Tuesday and Friday. We perform in about 18 concerts per year. Most of us are in our 70's, but still make an excellent sound. The sheer love of singing will always be there and I really look forward to our future concerts after our Christmas break.

As a real fan with undying love for the Maestro, I believe I understand you well. I feel the sadness too - it’s bittersweet really. And naturally for you Italians (and especially Modena citizens) there is a strong feeling of pride too - it is no wonder at all. Your lands history is full of unbelievable artists - and maestro Pavarotti was one of those and a wonderful man on addition to that too. When the covid is over or at least the situation is better, I will visit Italy once again - I like to travel and see different cultures but Italy is easily my favourite destination abroad. I hope I will get to visit Modena one day too - I’d love to see maestros home city he valued so much. Greetings from Finland!

Some critics say that technically Pavarotti wasn’t the best tenor, but his charisma and stage presence are what made him the best. He connected with his audience in a way that no other tenor has. I’m still very sad that when he came to South Africa I was still a student and couldn’t afford a concert ticket, let alone the cost of travelling from the coast to the capital city.

I love how when he's at this age his regular voice is very calm, soft, young and soothing, it's rather different than the voice he sings. However, when he says "I THINK SO" you can clearly listen his famous strong voice that probably anybody who has ever heard it can recognize it without seeing who's singing.
@ellenlyons74134 жыл бұрын
thats because a Tenor voice is manufactured , its above the normal speaking voice, He studied for 7 years before he hit the stage in his official debut. His voiced changed as he performed and aged, but it just improved, anytime you listen, that's what you get, the best there ever was, or ever will be. From the rumbling of a Diesel engine to the soft, sweet piercing voice of a songbird. I so wish I could have seen him sing live.

I feel you - same here when I "found" him a year ago. (I was only a kid when he passed away - knew the name of course though). Now when I have found opera again after many years, I felt the very real, strong connection - I'd honestly say love - while listening to him and then realised/remembered he is gone. I cried like a baby - never did that for anyone else than a family member and probably never will. And I still mourn him, it aches - just like it hurts to remember my late father. I don't exaggerate one bit - not even when I say I would do anything (ok, obviously except murdering etc) for him to be alive. I don't quite understand it, but it is what it is. I cannot say this to anyone face to face though - only other his passionate fans can understand. Others would think I'm crazy.
