It will 4 years in May since he died and I'm finding it easier to remember the good times and harder to recall the awful, unimagineable times. If I live long enough he will probably end up being a saint in my mind...LOL. Death as in life, it's the strangest things...I ran across a picture of him when he was probably at the happiest time of his life, it was on his birthday that I uncovered it in a box. Being the hopeless romantic I am, I felt like he was perhaps reaching out to me. Our minds can play games with us, can't it?

It went crazy in there. I never heard a crowd so loud for a small opera performance. The cameras were flashing everywhere. This was better than any sporting event this century. I cried out loud after I heard it the first time yesterday. I should turn in my fan cards. I'm suppose to be a Celine and Luciano Pavoritti fan. But I love Celine more and appreciate the art of Music, Pavoritti bought to any stage.

Try to hear the original version ''Grande grande grande" by Mina (Italian), then Shirley Bassey had it in English around 1972, also nowadays by Jennifer Hudson. Great songs like this one, got to be sung by great voices and personalities.

I suggest you listen to the original Italian version from Mina and also to the Shirley Bassey english rendition. Those are the two best versions IMO.
