About "Glory To The World" guitarist Midori and Vocalist Asami says of the song. When Midori came to the U.S. and between tours in the U.K., Midori found time to visit his local church many times. It was then that Midori strongly felt the power of church music and the energy of the people. When she composed and arranged "Glory To The World," Midori made it into a powerful song. In an interview for a magazine project, Midori commented, "The world is going through a difficult time right now, and I hope this song can push people back. LOVEBITES was also in a difficult situation where they could not hold live concerts, but Asami went directly to the members' homes to get hints on how to write lyrics. And Asami commented, "Member all felt that we wanted to write lyrics and songs that would be close to the feelings of various people. Asami and Midori both have experience singing gospel songs in church, so their senses matched. The location is a wedding hall in Japan. Occasionally used for shooting music videos. P.S. Thanks for your reaction! 'Glory to the World' was written at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic (in 2020), when people around the world began to get sick and die. Many people became depressed. LOVEBITES wrote a song to give moral support to people during this difficult time. Naoki Takeyama (Music Video director) shot the video at the Christian chapel Casa d'Angela (Yokohama, Japan). Wedding ceremonies are held in this chapel. The video shows the reincarnation of Jesus Christ (bloody stigmata on the hands and head), a luminous cross appears above Asami, singing angels at the end of MV. Jesus Christ, who came into our World, is the hope for delivering humanity from the grief and suffering that the pandemic has brought.

This song was written primarily by Midori (blond guitarist) as a hopeful song for the world during Covid. About the dresses. When they were turing Europe as the opening act for Dragonforce, Asami was interviewed by a French metal mag and they asked her why the white dresses? Her response was, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we are all small and the white and gold makes it easier to see us on stage." And the ARE small. The shortest, Haruna, is only 4' 9" (145cm) and the tallest, Miyako and now Fami are 5' 2" (158cm). BTW, Miyako is a classically trained pianist and has been studying since she was 3 years old. She taught herself how to play the guitar in high school. If you want to see her playing the piano look for Swan Song but make sure it has the Chopin intro.

I know this is your second reaction to Lovebites. Thank you for coming back to them--I hope you'll make it a more frequent habit! They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Nameless Warrior” and “Liar”. All of them are barn-burners. They have also posted “Stand and Deliver”, “Swan Song”, “MDO” and “We the United” from the second concert. Some background (forgive any overlap with your existing research): They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." At my first contact with both songs, I wondered, if Lovebites had become "Metal Missionaries" or so. 😁 Concerning their musical skills, these ladies are almost tying knots into their fingers while performing high-paced excellence. 😂 With Lovebites, everything is in place: visuals, arrangement, music, speed, style, meaningful lyrics. Regarding the church itself, my understanding is that it's an actual church in Japan where people go if they want Western-style weddings. I don't think they hold actual services there. Other bands have shot videos in this church including Aldious, Unlucky Morpheus, and Galneryus. The exterior shots are not of the church. Also, the guy who is wandering around is supposed to represent Jesus being reincarnated in the present time and slowly remembering who He is and what was done to Him.
