The intro had one little thing different to Season 1: It said that this is "Day One" of his vacation to earth :). They literally told you right in the beginning of the episode that & where it is set in the past, but from experience I can say that it is really easy to miss :D

From what we've seen so far, it would seem that when angels are shot unprepared, they fall or pass out for a few seconds due to the surprise of the shot. This happened to Lucifer when Delilah was killed in the pilot. But when the angels are ready to take the shot, they just feel the hit, like when Lucifer and Amenadiel fought the gang in the last episode of S1. Lucifer had been living in LA for 5 years prior to the pilot. And the reason why Amenadiel didn't forcefully take him to hell this time was because of the deal he made with Lucifer to get his necklace back. A deal is a deal....

So the shooting stuff... I agree. it makes little sence. Obviously angels are invulnerable. The way I see it, it's all about their awareness. When they don't expect the shooting they pass out for a time, just because of the psychological component. When they see it coming then it just hurts a little, like a pin prick. And when they are really amped up and in the zone then it doesn't even affect them.

Great theory and it ties in nicely with the same reaction Lucifer had in the pilot episode, in the scene with his friend that was killed in the drive by shooting. 👍👍

A nice tie up to before the pilot episode. You caught the last scene well! Re: Amenadiel getting shot, remember in the pilot, Lucifer was shot with his friend by the drive by shooter, he passed out for a few seconds too, Sideshowman commented below with a very good theory on shooting an angel.

2:42 they seem to have a continuity problem with immortality and bullets. When they chased Malcolm they had all the goons shooting them with no issue. He gets shot by the embezzling wife in St Lucifer and and gets knocked “unconscious”.

Remember that Lucifer was unconscious from getting shot in Episode one, maybe after so many in succession they get knocked out. The next episode Charlotte is AWESOME

Pilot episode, the girl and Lucifer were shot. A few seconds later, he came to. It took a few seconds in the very first episode. So this is not too weird. LOL.I guess they are impervious, unless the script wants them to be. LOL. So relax, you are not the first to question this. And good Post. Thank you.

My thought was always that Amenadiel had probably never been shot before, or experienced anything like it, so it was much larger a shock to him than it would be to Lucifer.

As far as I remember, the future episodes don't really tie into this one. Starting with the last third or so of the season, the episodes flow into each other much more directly, which is why I would recommend watching Episode 25 (Boo Normal) after Episode 15 (High School Poppycock) because after that, there aren't really singular fillers any more. Last time I will mention that, I promise.

Enjoy Portugal ❤ I don't remember how long Lucifer was on earth before the pilot episode, but it's been years. I'd say Amenadiel kept his deal, but after several years he was forced to try and get Lucifer back to hell. That is my take on it at least.

Literally, this episode said it took place on DAY ONE of Lucifer's vacation at the beginning... And next episode you get to find out who Cain is, it picks up exactly where we left off after Lucifer stabbed the lieutenant...
