One of the most beautiful scenes I've ever scene came from this comic. Where Lucifer and Morpheus are talking, as they go about Hell, locking each of the doors, Lucifer opens himself up to Dream. He's upset that the mortals blame him for their failures during life, that he has never made anyone ever do anything, and that he has never made anyone come to hell. He tells Dream that the humans say he's buying souls, but they never ask themselves why the Devil would want souls? It makes you realize that it's all on us, what we do is one us and not some higher power. In a strange way, it feels comforting.

I love this because it was referenced in the Lucifer TV show when Lucifer talks to his therapist Linda, about how everyone blames him for all of their undoings

I am firmly convinced that the Depeche mode song. Walking in my shoes. Is about exactly this. Lucifer. Unapologetic or repentant for his actions. Understanding that they are the scapegoat God needed for humanity. Yet also understanding that no one else could fill their role.
