Lucifer is just a very broken person looking for someone who will accept him for who he is and that that someone will fix him. The worst part about it is that he believes himself to be evil after he was casted out by his father, when he's in fact the person with the most light out of all the other angels. But he hides this so well behind the playboy exterior, that nobody close to him noticed how much pain he was in, except for Chloe.

Gods “word” his “book” does state he wasnt always evil. He had such strong love for his father he was banished from heaven and sent to rule hell as the king of evil, but. It doesnt say he has a pitchforked tail, horns, or any of the above but he is human. He is someone we shouldnt look down upon him but see ourselves level to.
