Regarding the spies, I also think that Hildy (Lord Jonos Bracken's favored camp follower) could be one. She's high placed in the camp (in Lord Bracken's tent), and immediately after Jaime treats with folks at Raventree Hall, he heads to Pennytree where Brienne conveniently knows where to find him. No on in Raventree could have informed on Jaime's whereabouts (they're under siege), Bracken we know is on Jaime's side, so that leaves...the camp follower that no one would suspect. AND! We know that Petyr Pimple ran off after a camp follower when he was caught and hanged. Methinks the BWB has a network of camp follower spies, and I LOVE the idea of all these overlooked women bringing down the high lords without the lords ever being aware. They go unnoticed and underestimated, yet they are powerful. Reminds me of Arya in the Mercy chapter. And then you have them helping orphans at the inn, which is run by a woman. Once again, I think Martin is saying something about all the often nameless, unnoticed, and underestimated helping hands in war to protect people being those of women.

Hildy is not an ordinary camp-follower. She's not acting like one. When Jaime bursts into Lord Bracken's tent and catches him having sex with Hildy, she tries to cover herself in shock and says she is not a whore when Jaime remarks that her covering up is bad for her trade. Jaime apologizes and says he's been with only one whore so he wouldn't know the difference between a whore and a mistress (his jealousy and hurt are making him call Cersei that, though she is a cheater, not a whore, she wasn't paid). Then, Hildy overcomes her initial surprise and tries to seduce Jaime, even touching him inappropriately without his permission, while her lover was still searching for his clothes. If she had been Lord Bracken's lover out of sentiment, she wouldn't have done that. If she had been a whore, she wouldn't have covered up. And then, seeing that Jaime doesn't react visibly, she asks him what he is attracted to in women , he answers "innocence" and she laughs. Later at Pennytree, when his men told him a woman wanted to see him, Jaime thinks it's Hildy at first, but no, it's innocent Brienne sent as bait by Lady Stoneheart. Hildy had reported back to the BWB and they sent an appropriate bait. The whole Lannister and Frey army are infiltrated by spies--singers, whores, etc, and they watched Jaime's behavior closely. The BWB wrongly called Brienne the "Kingslayer's whore" when she was brought before Lady Stoneheart, because she had repeatedly called his name when she was delirious with fever, and sent her as bait like they sent another whore to Petyr Frey. I was surprised Jaime believed Brienne's lie about Sansa and the Hound and left everything behind to go help her. I mean, he trusts her and cares for her, but he is not stupid enough to think he can defeat the Hound one-handed. Later Kevan tells Cersei that Jaime went missing with Brienne in the Riverlands, so enough time has passed that someone in his army sent a raven to the capital.

@lalywindland57644 жыл бұрын
@@dustin628 No, not a Lady, because Jaime, Lord Bracken and others would have recognized her from Court, balls, tournies and other events where the highborn people gather. And she also doesn't speak like a lady. For example, when he is released from Riverrun by Catelyn and wakes up from the wine she had given him, Jaime immediately realizes Brienne is highborn at first glance, despite her being dressed like a soldier, not a lady, and being conventionally unattractive, just by the way she spoke. I think Hildy had been part of the smallfolk, maybe a farmer's daughter in the Riverlands, war and famine led her to BWB who use her as a spy. She was never a whore, or she wouldn't have covered up, not a Lady, because many would have recognized her, and not in love with Bracken, because she wouldn't have pinched Jaime's cock through his trousers ,without permission, with her lover still there. Honestly I was as shocked as Jaime when she did that, that was when I realized she was a spy.

Have to agree with Quinn, Catelyn (in life) HATES Jon. She was in grief, but that's how she's always felt & she could just speak freely for once. In that chapter later where she tells her story of Jon being a baby, wishing him dead & then Jon gets sick & she feels guilty, then prays to have him recover "If he recovers, I will be a true mother to him, I swear it" (to that effect) but she says she _couldnt_ keep her promise & she feels like all the "horror" brought upon her family is bc she couldn't love a motherless child. She also wanted to forbid Robb from naming Jon his successor, if he should die. She still held enmity towards him. Perhaps, lady Stoneheart, in death can find a way to right that wrong she did to Jon. Who knows.

I must correct y'all on one thing. Not all Freys are slimy; there's one good one...Olyvar, Robb's squire. Cat herself remembers that Olyvar was, in her words, "devoted to her son". Which is key because there's emphasis on Stoneheart "remembering". So it'd be interesting to see what happens should Stoneheart encounter him again. Olyvar also wasn't present at the Red Wedding, so that's another point in his favor. I suspect Olyvar is the Rosby ward, and will turn the castle over to one of the Starks, most likely Jon since Robb named Jon his heir. This is important because Rosby controls King's Landing's food supply. So whoever controls Rosby could starve the city out. If Cersei maintains control, the Starks would have every reason to do this. Not to mention, controlling Rosby would give the Starks a steady food supply through winter. Another possibility, assuming the Starks would align themselves with Stannis after he liberates Winterfell, is that Stannis could effectively starve the city out as well.
@UAPReportingCenter4 жыл бұрын
Wow Excellent point! Never thought of that!

If Olyvar is the ward, he could also cede the castle to Sansa once she reveals herself to the world. Which would be interesting because of her history with Cersei. Quinn, I also really like your idea of perverted, twisted honor being at play with LSH. It matches nicely with the Freys defending the Red Wedding by saying that the realm was mocking them and they needed to restore their honor, and with Tywin invading and pillaging the Riverlands because Cat taking Tyrion hostage besmirched his honor. In that sense, Cat is serving their version of 'honor' right back to them. If the high lords in Westeros can use honor as an excuse to rape, burn, pillage, and destroy, then she can use it to get revenge on them for destroying her family. And while it's a twisted sense of 'honor', it's been overall less harmful to the kingdom/smallfolk than the high lords Walder Frey and Tywin Lannister's warped sense of honor.

In the show there is this scene - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIWmaZ5oha19j9U - and nothing similar to this happens in the books. We never see her admitting that her hate towards Jon wasn't fair.
@MinesAGuinness4 жыл бұрын
@@Marviczekpusiczek This is true, but we do get interesting information as to why she dislikes Jon, which curiously might also suggest why she might not oppose him taking up the Stark mantle. When Catelyn recalls her early marriage, Ned bringing Jon to Winterfell, and her curiosity and concerns, there are hints that the situation might (an unconfirmed theory, of course) be thus: that Robb is Brandon's child that Ned has agreed to accept as his own and heir to Winterfell so long as Catelyn accepts Jon in their household and stops asking questions. While Robb was alive, she kept Jon at a distance, fearful that he might one day pose a rivalry to him (as she believes that Jon is Ned's son.) Definitely will be uber satisfying getting the particulars with how the Freys are taken out in the books . likely en masse. Stoneheart to me makes the most sense to be the driving force and orchestrator of it and certainly fitting for her arc and satisfying for her character. There are also a confluence of like minded characters who would want revenge on the Freys and Lannisters and willing to take action - the Blackfish , Arya & Nymeria / her wolfpack to go along with Lady Stoneheart and her contingent of the Brotherhood ; so it could be a collective effort. Myself and many are eagerly anticipating to see exactly how this plays out / unfolds in the books.

Jeyne Westerling could make a lot of trouble for Frey, Lannister, and Bolton even if she isn't pregnant now. All they would need to do is get her with one of Edmure's bastards (Caitlyn mentioned these more than once), or just some guy who looks roughly like Robb. If her mother's not present to make sure she drinks moon tea (as if she'd ever trust her mother again!), she could produce a child within a year and they'd have Robb's heir to rally around.

I think it could be very interesting if Stoneheart sees the wolf pack and recognises Nymeria, and even more interesting if she realises the direwolf can understand her. She might not realise it's Arya, but if she was able to control the wolfpack through Arya willingly following her orders then she could do a lot of damage. Also, if Arya saw Stoneheart through Nymeria's eyes, she'd sure as hell want to go back to Westeros right away. She knows the wolf dreams are real at this point, as she remarked to herself that she could tell the Kindly Man that it's snowing in the Riverlands, but chose not to, as she'd have to tell him how she knew and she doesn't want them to know she's a skinchanger.

There is one point you forgot about Catelyn´s death: while as you said Beric died delivering justice, she died just after killing Aegon "Jinglebell" Frey, a completely innocent man (that his asshole father made into his court jester for being a bit simple). That is her path I Think, and only that: blind and bloody revenge, without a second tought. Plus, as Quinn points out, Catelyn REALLY hates Jon in the books. In the show they gave her a second thought on that, but in ASOIAF, Jon represents two things for Catelyn: a menace for her children, and the fact that she will never truly belong to the North. No way she will back hin up. Concerning people "deserving" to die, I cheered for Ryman´s hanging (after all it was him who slew treacherously Dacey Mormont), but I fear GRRM will make us rue our joy at seeing the Freys killed: let´s not forget the decent ones like Olyvar or Edmure´s wife Rosamund. They are not safe. :( (not even poor Jeyne Westerling) The only Frey I have ne fear for is Big Walder. That kid will end up Lord of the Twins, that´s just a fact. Even if it means getting in a killing contest of his relatives against Stoneheart. ;) Thanks a lot in any cas for your videos, you´re great!

Hey Guys Great video. Sorry for the TL:DR but it is a long video after all... Merret didn't do anything but Drink. The brotherhood isdoing the same thing as before. Blaming Sandor for Gregor's crimes. It's guilty by association. It's just petty reasons for revenge and murder. Yes He knew that the Red Wedding was coming. But so did Rosalin...many of the Freys were coerced into complying with the Red Wedding or they'd get kicked out of the Twins. Additionally there are good Freys there. Hell we hear about Freys that were excluded from the Red Wedding because they were too close to the STARKS One of Robs squires was a FREY. Like I said in the previous video even if they managed to kill all the Freys at the Twins, there are Freys in the Vale Castle Darry and Rosby and they're intermarriage with Crackhalls and Hardying not to mention the Lannisters. By the logic of the Brotherhood all the Westerlings are guilty of the Betrayal as well. So they should kill them all too. Would Jeyne just let them kill her mother and other family? Would we even still like her if she did? You talk about the Tullys restoring the honor of their Family after they were mocked and betrayed. that's Ironic LML that is literally the justification you quoted from Merret earlier in the Video...😑 I'm sorry but Catelyn would Never give Winterfel to Jon. Her whole motivation was getting Jon away from Winterfel and protecting her children. Remember that Long rant she went on about Vale Lords and such just to avoid even mentioning Jon as a possible heir? Does she seem like she had softened on those ideas? Hell blackfish thinks Jon was places in Charge of the Nights Watch by Tywin somehow. If that rumor was ever passed to her that would cemet her enmity for him. Please remember when Ned left Winterfel she demanded that Jon leave. So she doesn't respect the wishes of people when they're no longer around to enforce them. Call it a bias but nothing I've read has lead me to believe that something like this would ever happen.

Its awesome that you go through the trouble to credit everyone. Even cooler, Quinn, after watching several of these videos I finally, today (I am not always the most perceptive lol) noticed what looks like my metal print of Aegon the Conqueror of Harrenhall hanging on your wall!!!!!! Catelyn hates Jon, after death she's just going to hate him more, especially considering Robb's Will was arranged not very long before her death. I think her loathing will be amplified enough that she is going to completely disregard Robb's Will when it comes to Jon. And interestingly enough she now know's Arya is alive and she has been actively searching for her even going so far as placing Gendry in charge of an orphanage in one of the last places she was spotted. Of course right now they think Bolton may have Arya but I do believe they are skeptical about it. Either way, I do think there are three things she is going to have amplified feelings about 1) Her resentment and loathing of Jon 2) Her perseverance of trying to find her daughters and I think this will extend to her actively trying to bring her other family members into the fold like the Blackfish, Edmure, and Jeyne, and 3) Her thirst for vengeance against the people that hurt her family. So yeah I don't see Lady Stoneheart ever giving Jon the crown and being okay with him being King, and this comes from someone who loves both Catelyn and Jon. Also Catelyn was way worse to Jon in the books.

I think Rosalind having a child with rob is a a bit of a stretch. George is pretty good about balancing realism and the needs of the narrative and none of the talk about a possible child is layered in any symbolism but instead of just a realistic worry that they’d have. When It comes to Catelyn I think you give her too much credit as a maternal archetype, Jon is a motherless child who has a great relationship with all of his siblings, hasn’t been shown to be a menace to any of them and most of them return the love. With that when Jon is about to go away forever and say goodbye to his brother catlyn for no other reason but spite tells him she wished he was dead isn’t something imo you can hand wave with just a “oh she’s just upset”. . Jon has no birthright no prospects of inheritance and catlyn herself when it comes to cersei asks in her inner monologue for what reason they’d fear a bastard when they can’t do anything. Catlyn imo comes across as a hypocrite and yes she does care for her children but that doesn’t excuse her lack of empathy(or ignoring her 3 year old to just sit next to bran, yeah what a great mother). With that said it’s impressive George was able to right such a compelling character that does have positive and negative aspects of her personality
