Welcome to Finland! And yeah, the ice on lakes is usually thick enough at winter that you can drive a car on it, no problem

This is truly wonderful and so soothing to watch to be honest with you. Finland has been on my bucket list of places to come and visit, but there is always something that gets in the way. But thanks to your videos the excitement gets higher, but also it gets shorter as I am planning to come to visit this summer. Looking forward to it and thanks to you, I can make the waiting time a bit shorter. Thank you and sending much love :)

Glad to see again that you have had good time in my home country. Welcome again in summertime when it's so green everywhere and there's a lot of light whole night. You were wondering about that ice on the lake. That north in this time of year the ice is at least half meter thick, so it is strong enough even for driving a car. About 5 cm is enough to hold the weight of a person.
@LucileHR

That time of the year when you experience this special light is called "kaamos" in the Finnish language. It is the time of year when the sun doesn´t rise over the horisont. Above the Arctic circle you have less and less sun as you go further north, you could say that the kaamos gets deeper. But due to the snow you can always see something even in the middle of the night. And if there is moonlight or northern lights and clear sky it is real magic. And above Arctic circle you have the same magic half a year later with the midnight sun. Then you will have 24 hours of sunlight! ... and yes, you have to come back again :-)
