Devon Gilfillian is a very strong vocalist, but his voice doesn't really work well here. The original arrangement was much better, for this specific song. It's like he's competing for the lead, which disrupts the essential harmony the original arrangement presented. He doesn't pair well. It changes the tone of the song and makes it seem less harmonious and smooth.
