16:38 - I'm learning poker right now and cant calculate how doug has 24% equity after the turn. Doesnt he just have the spade outs? 37:9? 9/46=19% Or for simplicity take his 9 outs and multiply by 2 since its the turn for 18%?

It's not 9/46 because we see on camera that Freedman doesn't have a spade (so it's gonna be 9/44 or better) and some other non spades were already folded. They put the equity for the cards the viewer has seen, not necessarily the equity you would assume if you were in the player's position. In this case I think it's 8/34 which is 23.5% rounded up, since a 6 of spades was folded and a bunch of non spades were folded.

5:22 I did that too at first. Then my friend was ranting and raving around season four or five about how good it was. I told him i thought he show was slow as fuck. He told me you gotta get through the first two seasons and then it gets good and that exactly what I think. The first two seasons feel like the set up cost to the series. I went back, got through the first two seasons and then i was hooked. Though all the places they could have gone at the start of season seven I think they fucked up. I dont like season eight at all so idk. Season 5 6 and 7 are bomb as fuck though lol.

It's really simple game theory. You got 2 very highly likely ways to win. That said, I dont consider J-10D on Qh 3D 5D a candidate for this play. All my Dual Draws, My Double Overcard Straight draws, and my Ace High Flush Draws get integrated in this play sometimes, and other times I just play them to realize my equity cheap, and other times i just use my standard betting line.

Stack sizes came into play on that hand. Besides, if you can go All-in with a draw sometimes, people have to call you down more, and if you aren't going all in with draws too often it makes for a very profitable table image.

Holy bajesus, if you told me I could get in a raise in this spot every time and my opponent won't fold, I would sell every single one of my possessions and put it on the line. Should he flat call Joe and then when Doug misses the draw on the end it just goes check check and he gets no more value?
