Nice video! I fished Camp Pendleton, Del Mar Beach…. I was surf fishing with a 2 ounce diamond jig and caught 4 bat rays and a 21” spot fin croaker and a 19-1/2” yellow fin croaker….all in between people (straight not from Cali folk) boogie boarding 🤣
@pinecone36302 жыл бұрын
Woahh, nice trip! Do you have any tips for surf fishing?
@addicted2fishing1192 жыл бұрын
@@pinecone3630 it’s all about going and gaining experience and confidence. I’ve been recently throwing diamond jigs because they cast so far. I get bit on different retrieval styles daily so you just gotta play with different styles till you finally get bit. Then it’s so worth it 🍻

@@addicted2fishing119 Thanks! I’m heading over to huntington beach to fish for croaker and (hopefully) corbina with sand crabs, and then maybe some jig fishing after. You ever had any luck in that area?

Was there last week. From out of town and I have a question. I caught what I thought was a “corvina” off shelter island pier. It looks similar to what you caught and called “corbina”. The one I caught had orange color in the mouth two big canines on top. Is there a difference ?
@BearzG2 жыл бұрын
shortfin corvina is what I caught and likely the same fish you caught. Corbina (B), has small mouth, resembles a croaker. Mainly in the surf and sometimes in the bay.

Yo Bears G .. I fished mostly at sunset cliff's in OB. I Figured out the high low rig, with bait was the only thing getting bite or dropper loop. I finally got into a Calico bass!! My first salt water fish on the new setup, it was exciting. Thing hit hard. No keepers or sheep heads etc. But People were catching. Saw a garbaldi, lobster, kelp fish, and a eel, plus few other species get caught. Never know there. First parking spot at the cliffs. I got skunked at harbor island but it was a busy day lots of boat traffic and skis🤙
@ericbonofacio46952 жыл бұрын
You should do a new episode at the cliffs in OB if you get a chance. I know you have a older episode on the channel.

I'm thinking now a nice corvina is a way better catch. I'm jealous that was my favorite target species besides halis. Congrats on a good trip/first corvina 👍
@vincentnieto77923 ай бұрын
Awesome catches. Just found your channel. I'm convinced in San Diego you can never get skunked and all you do is get bit. Not so here in Long Beach …😮
