From the looks of the pool test it seems that the lucky craft has a different sound to it. As far as the action goes, the lucky craft has a little more wiggle to it where as the calissa seemed to have a bit of a lazy action.

Agree...lucky craft is very consistent with sound and action on fast and slow retrieve. Not the same with the calissa
@yajmeneu
@yajmeneu 5 жыл бұрын
The Calissa would go straight then up on some retrieve without having any action at all in the surf and all it's crazy flows. I'm not sure if it's the lip or internals, but LC has very good action as long as there's a retrieve. Water flow could hit the LC from any direction and it'll still keep the depth/action vs Calissa that won't during retrieving. I fish Monterey mostly so sometimes there's really massive waves where you'll actually feel the difference....120SP Duo is still the best for me though haha, perch too stripers.

you'll have to understand that a saltwater suspending bait will slow sink in pool or fresh water because of water density being different =)

That was done purposely according to Calissa. In Florida, where the company is based out of some places are very pressured- just like areas here. Sometimes fish will prefer a more subtle lure. We cut both lures in half and found out the differences too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5eUaKVmqreFnZY

Can you try a Rapala X-rap and a Daiwa SP in the pool. The sounds produced by the lures were different not sure if that helps with the attraction from the fish.
@Hook2Cook

Theoretically, the louder rattles might help to attract and dirty or water conditions or more rough water. And heavily pressured situations, a softer sound might do better

The waves make it a different challenge. If it’s pulling back you can pause and it’ll still have action. When it’s pushing the lure you gotta catch up.

Hey bud, thanks for the vid. What length rod would you suggest for perch/striper (mostly perch) that can pull double duty for Carolina rig and lures? I have an 8’6” okuma but thinking about going longer for distance.
@Hook2Cook
@Hook2Cook 4 жыл бұрын
It’s tough but you’ll want to find something that casts up to 2oz for a normal Carolina rig. Started looking at the shins I dialuna for that but it’s like $300... anything that casts too heavy, you’ll lose the ability to cast the lighter lures. Going from 1/2oz-2oz is a pretty wide stretch... maybe look into the Daiwa saltest... maxes out at 1-1/4 oz for the 9’6” model.

The knot you're using for that jerkbait totally ruins the lure's action. To turn it's head, that poor lure must move the entire line stiffly attached to it's nose. Using a 'Rapala Knot' or 'Kreh Loop', the lure can boogie without being stiffly hobbled. It makes a huge difference. Visualize: shaking your head with a stiff, 100' cord attached, welded straight to your nose. Now try with a loose loop through your nose. There is no play when it's a static point - AKA a stiff, firmed up knot (like your uni) - because there is a firm resistance to any wobble effect, but with a loop, the freedom to slide back and forth allows much more action out of the lure.
