Procreate can only have limited layers depending on canvas size. ArtStudio Pro has virtually no limit. Good stuff.

I recently bought my Ipad and bought Procreate because it is the most used in the world of illustration but the truth was that it did not convince me at all, I even regretted having spent so much money on an ipad if I did not feel comfortable illustrated with this tool. Shortly after I met artstudio pro and bought it to see how it worked and I have to say that it is incredible and by far it is better than procreate

This video is so good. You are doing what Procreate wasn’t. I am so glad to see realistic brushes. I like how many items you can put on the quick menu. I like the UI. I think you may have passed Procreate. Thanks for this helpful video. I learned things I didn’t know. It was well done.

UI is improving slowly, but still nowhere near the elegant design of procreate, and a lot screen space wasted, there is still a lot more that can be done (however procreate also wastes a lot of screen space).

BRUSHES: can we HIDE or DELETE standard brushes somehow? I'm using my set of brushes (like most of the professional artists) and it is really really REALly inconvenient to have a whole bunch of default pre-installed brushes first and my custom brushes coming next. COLORS: I know it is related to how you built your app initially, but dual colors (primary and secondary) are a must-have. It is necessary to have them to work efficiently with gradients and so on. Besides, it's a great update of a great app, and thank you for what you're doing. I just think that this critique is important to mention.

Delete stock assets is not possible, sorry. But you can sort groups and move your favorites (both custom and stock) to the top.

@@LuckyClan The thing is that you can erase separate brushes, but not folders :). I think you can implement a "hiding" feature, which will not erase them out of the stack but will hide them from the brushes menu. And then add an icon that shows all or hides hidden folders.

Looking forward to the brushes video. I want to learn to create my own custom brushes but it is very difficult when you have no reference to what settings do. Had many failed attempts so far while trying to figure it out. Trying to make a very specific brush behavior but it has been a frustrating challenge.

I've been using Artstudio as my primary working app for over a year now. I love it! The only two things I would like to see are warp transform and select color range. Other than that no complaints!

Warp will be added in version 3.1. Select color range - if you mean 'Select By Color' it is there: activate Magic Wand tool, tap "..." icon in the left toolbar to open tool options panel, and turn off "Contiguous' switch.

I’m a professional artist who loves working on the iPad. I’ve always worked on procreate but a few features really broke the experience for me. I installed art studio pro but the one thing which is holding me back from making it my go to program is the fact we don’t have an onscreen colour picker at the side of the screen like that of procreate. Being able to tap with my thumb whilst I paint enabling me to simulate the alt key on a keyboard is a MUST HAVE feature. I hope that this is added in the next update. It would seal the deal for me

Maybe try to configure your finger as an Eyedropper, you can do it in Artstudio > Preferences > Gestures > Finger Function

@@LuckyClan Thanks for your reply. Have tried this, but when I’m panning / zooming the canvas often times the iPad gets confused and will switch colours, which messes up workflow. Iv tried all different variations and none seem to work as well and reliably as procreates. I hope that you consider the feedback and will be adding it in the future. Your program is all around much better than pro create besides this one crucial feature

I really miss the left side organized tool bar (with quick expandable tools). Also the old placement of the top menu bar. wish their was an option in preferences to bring these items back like they were in 2.0. My workflow requires me to access the top menu continually and so placing it as an optional submenu nested below the top bar takes up more space and feels less organized. The removal of the left hand tool bar with quick access expandable tools is a problem for me because I can’t fit all the tools I use in my workflow on the favorites bar now and opening up the menu that show all tools at once feels much less organized and makes tools harder to find. The prior toolbar already organized your tools with its quick sub menus so that users like me could access more tools more quickly. I should say I don’t use Artstudio Pro for painting and artwork creation. I use it for design and image editing.

Have you guys tried working out on the compression export? I have noticed it is often diffuclt to get images to compress well without detoriating a lot in quality. Like to export as jpeg but first compress, sometimes they look bad. Also, Have you thought of importing the Photoshop features of erase background, sky replacement, etc? Also I believe resizing an image detoriates it a lot more than on photoshop. ALso a bout cropping the canvas without changing size o image and resampling as well as resizing. Despite these issues, I think this is definitely the best graphic design app on the iPad.

I use them for see through or if I need images to be transparent in sections like the main image I have at my main website www.maciejduraj.com. However if I kept the background image as jpeg or logo or feature image it would take way too long to load my site.

@@brushrunner I think Apple preview on the Mac has a great compressor that really reduces image sizes well without compromising on quality. I also sometimes use this website called jpeg resize or something.

It's not easy. And these are not the most necessary features atm I believe. To implement something like sky removing or whatever you need to write an algorithm and then train neural networks to do the job. It's just on another scale of a software dev.

It's a great app but at times -as Im using other apps as well- its a bit confusing when I want to change brush I always go to the brush icon not the other icon on the right at the top. And there is no transformation icon I have to go to Edit and Transform. Also can you guys make more brushes that can be used? I already added some Photoshop brushes but still feel something is missing and I constantly go back to other apps to make those nice brushstrokes.

I guess you just need to learn how to customize the app. There is a TON of options to speed up your workflow with placing icons and actions in the quick menu to be accessible with four finger tap. I just don’t get this types of commenting of people who even want to spend time learning how to use the app and wish that all apps have the same UI despite of huge functionality gaps between them 🙄 The brush engine is so powerful that you don’t really need to download tons of brush packs out there, you just simply need to learn to customize the default ones. This app makes people experienced in photoshop to easily make a transition to ipad. thank you Lucky for creating the best professional app available for ios ❤️

I like the fact that this is the app closest to Photoshop in functionality and look but because I did traditional art a lot before its easer to use an app with a simpler UI.

You can use Quick Menu or Key Shortcuts to speed up your workflow. Brushes - there are almost 200 brushes in the app. If you need more - i recommend finding some ABR brush packs and importingthem in Artstudio Pro.

I Love this app... I Did not love you last update thing in this video, the last tool thing made NO Sense, you said go to brush tool, then go and long press on the eraser tool, then you started erasing, But said you where erasing with the pencil Yet the Eraser tool was still lit up Orange.... Doesn't make any sense to me AT All if you meant it was erasing with with the pencil Brush you can already do that, you can set any brush you want to I believe any tool that uses a Brush!! SOOO??????????

Everything is ok there. It means you are erasing using "Pencil" brush (not Pencil tool).
