Also I forgot to mention in the tutorial, use View>Reference View, to pull up the image reference as you work.

Thank you for making an easy to follow tutorial. I have had an iPad for years and finally decided to try to use the clipping mask and selection tools. Switching from procreate to art studio. Your channel is awesome and I wish more of youtube was like it.

I found you by looking for artstudio. Underrated app that beats procreate, at least for me. I've spent time with procreate, the UI is so clean but still ... I forgot about my iPad until I saw this videos. You've got a new sub, keep working on it! I hope more people do guides for artstudio. Ps. Also I should say your name really caught me. Seems some kind of joke for me, seems like mixing Japanese (Kage) with Spanish (bonito). Dunno why you chose bonito but it's funny to me haha I'm Spanish :)

Thank you for the tutorial! Wow, I never knew about the swatches from photos thing (and no, it's not cheating). I use procreate but I want to try Artstudio since I heard it's closer to Photoshop. You're work is awesome and thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I'm old and soon creaky (no, not cranky. Not really. Well, maybe a tiny little bit. A smidgen.) and if you only knew the kind of brainmelts I went through some THIRTY YEARS AGO trying to do this in Photoshop... Now thanks to Artstudio Pro, the iPad and of course your phenomenal award-winning tutorial, it can be done in a few minutes. Not my style, but bravo 🎼📯🪗 ! 🍺🐷 🍺

View>Reference. Once you do that there should be an “image” tab that you click on. 👍
