Do you think black cats are typically more lean than other cats? My Buddy is built just like Boo, but my Eleanor is built more like your original cats.

we have to remember that black is slimming and stripes can make people/pets look wider than they are. 😸 I think activity level makes a difference. That’s something that I’m noticing with the kittens as they are maturing. more of a difference between the ones that are more active and more playful and the ones that are happier relaxing more. also differences in fur. Boo’s fur is sleeker.

Do what I have done when I was sick. Put a really large doubled garbage bag under the sheets and bedding or a rubber sheet. There have been times with other cats ( not mine now ) where previous cats would urinate on my bed. My cats now just cough up hairballs that my automatic hairball detector always detects in the dark just AFTER I step on them & then have to clean them up.

Nah. If Splash had died, we would be getting a RIP video like with DItto and Hydrox. But he didn't die and probably won't die for a while so its a moot point. This was just a case of a dementia ridden, hoarding neighbor getting hauled away and the family cleaning up the dementia riddled, hoarding neighbor's property. Which means less wildlife in Lucky's yard.

No judgement. It sounds like the "jungle" neighbor is elderly, unable to do yard maintenance or pay to have it done, and has no local family to help manage. The neighbor appears to be declining to where they're now unable to care for him/herself, so family is moving in & tackling neglected projects. It's good projects are underway, but the neighbor's physical and mental challenges must be overwhelming for him/her.
