My favorite thing with building a castle is using door walls all around a room. It makes it look just like pillars and you have a more open floor plan. Which I like.

Great guide and tips - I played some early access and am now diving into 1.0. One server setting for single players that I found important was to reduce the rate of blood essence consumption by your castle heart. That way, if you take a few days off from the game, you won't come back to a decaying castle (and yes, you can also turn off castle decay if you want).

I have some friends who have been playing since early into the early-access stage of the game, and have invited me to come along now that 1.0 has dropped. I feel like the in game tutorials and systems are poorly explained and it's caused quite a bit of frustration. This guide feels well made and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I played at initial early access, but not since so this was very useful. One thing I’m wondering, is I recall in the beginning it was very much certain spells, trees were useful and others not much. Have they leveled that out more? Also is it better to focus on one type ie frost?

Lots of good advice thanks. I played this game a lot when it was first released (over a year ago) and loved it, great game, then I hit its downside - it was impossible to progress unless you killed a boss (I actually got stuck behind three) and I got to hate it and stopped playing. From your narrative I'm now hopeful that they've removed that problem so I'm getting back into it.

As long as you use potions on the holy bosses and keep your armor maxed out it's not to tough until Adam! He's end game and a good challenge for those that want it. Feel free to modify your personal server settings to give yourself more of an edge if you get stuck. Can Chang them any time

Note for something you did not mention for bear form if you have a debuff you can go into bear form to have that debuff wear off faster

This is the First survival crafting game to truly flesh out combat without shifting it to just be a combat gane with annoying resource requirements since terraria. Thats quite the achievement

This is an amazing guide!!! i dunno if anyone else experienced this but i was going after my 3rd vblood boss and some hunter was there along with him with alot higher level than me. so i managed to kill the vblood boss but the hunter was taking forever to take down..that the vblood boss respawned a couple times while trying to kill the hunter..is that normal?
