The damage numbers arent telling you that youre overleveled or something. Grey means they are resistant to that damage type. White means they arent resistand or weak to that damage type. Red means they are weak to that damage type. So if a lot of enemies are getting grey numbers when you attack them youll have to add a different damage type to your weapon. Like fire or holy damage.

After giving the chipped rune tablet to the blacksmith you can start farming runes. If you find a mimic use a rabbits foot and a charmed rabbits foot (if you have 1) before you soulflay it, its the only enemy on the game (that i know of) that drops the agility rune that gives 10% more souls when killing enemies. If you want to farm runes the best early weapons are the daggers that the exile assasin class starts with (provided you got the atleast 1 rune tablet for the blacksmith and dropped the xp runes from the mimic), you can buy 2 from merchant in skyrest (cant remember who sells em) but these can have 3 agility runes when upgraded to +9 and giving the 3 rune tablets to the blacksmith, if you can get the extra souls runes from the mimics thats upto 60% more runes (if in umbral you get 70%, then 80%, upgraded to 2.60% and finally 3.60% if you stay long enough), there is also a ring (moth ring i think) that gives another 10%. Upgrade stones can be farmed easily in the "fen" area. From the vestige where byron is standing go into umbral and go through the tunnel "if you opened the shortcut" to left is an umbral ladder go up and follow the path over the bridge and up the hill the road splits, you can keep going up or left, go left and bk down the hill to the umbral flower bed and plant a seed and rest. Enter bk into umbral, use a rabbits foot and retrace you steps to the fork in road killing the 3 archers and 2 mace wielding enemies, turn left go up the hill till you come to the bulwark (big mace wielding enemy) kill it then run bk down the hill to the bridge kill the archer and round the corner is another bulwark, kill him and retrace your steps bk to your seedling rest and repeat. This area is great farming spot because the mace and archer enemies (7 in total) as well as souls drop their respective gear/weapons and also small/regular weapon upgrade stones and the bulwarks also can drop their armour set and weapon as well as large upgrade stones so you get to upgrade your lvl and weapons at the same time.

another thing is from molhu in skyrest (must be in umbral) he sells a "charm of fortunes sight" umbral catalyst. This requires 12 radiance and inferno to use but is the 3rd best catalyst on the game when fully upgraded with 75 radiance&inferno with "lost berescu's" been the best but the charm of fortunes sight is immediately available to purchase. Damarose the marked appears nxt to the boss just after sanctuary vestige, exhaust her diologue here and she will move outside the boss room (the archer and her hounds) near the bell room vestige. Here she will sell inferno spells, the ones to look for are adyrs rage, adyrs hardiness and adyrs endurance as well as inferno weapon. Adyrs rage increases ALL damage types, adyrs hardiness increases defence and resistances and adyrs endurance increases stamina regen these are auras that last for bout 90 seconds and really help a lot in boss fights. Unlike other souls games where you can only have 1 aura spell active at a time, you can have those 3 auras simultaneously. The infernal weapon spell increases physical and fire damage that scales with the spell power of your catalyst (or so im told) and also adds burn build up (i tested it, its a flat 60 burn build up to any weapon same the poison weapon spell adds phys dam and 60 poison build up). If she doesnt sell them all here you can get them from her near adyrs shrine in fitzroys gorge (i think) just after the ruiner boss fight. You can get poison weapon from molhu at skyrest after giving him the bolw of rememberance (i think) from pilgrims perch on your was to the bell vestige. You meet an npc set in stone in the "fen" area near the vestige where the npc byron is standing, when you find her do not attack or roll into her while she is in the statue (petrified) state as this will kill her, tho this will lock you out of her quest line she will drop her weapon "kakujins sword" a rather powerful short sword with innate 60 bleed and poison build up that pairs really well with the "bloodlust" weapon (innate 60 bleed and burn build up and also heals a small amount of hp on enemy kill). If you remove the petrified from the npc be sure to return to skyrest n exhaust her diologue and MOST IMPORTANT when you fight the "fen" area boss, die on purpose so that you can summon this npc "kakujin" for the boss fight, if you dont summon her for this boss fight you will fail her quest line (some ppl have said you can miss 1 of the boss fights but i couldnt comment on that as i wanted her weapon so i killed her). You will need to summon her for all the major bosses and return to her in skyrest to pay her for her servives after every boss fight as fighting another boss before doing this will cause her to become hotile failing her quest. Also this npcs questline can not be completed in same playthrough as palladin isaacs questline (to unlock the dark crusader starting class) as both these questlines require you to summon them during the final fight with the lightreaper, so you must intentionally die to the reaper during the first 3 encounters as killing him before the final fight in upper calrath, just before brahmis castle will automatically fail both palladin isaac and kakujins questlines. If you complete her quest you get armour set and her sword, if you kill her you only get her sword

This is the game that got me into souls games ngl but best tip I can give is duel wield and stack status effects (especially fire and poison) there op in this game and “great” weapons make you attack super slow save those weapons for a later play through when you “get good” 🤣🤣🤣

Steam reviews were talking about how bad it runs, i feel like those are people with weak PC’s. I experienced some stutters and occasional fps dips when loading into a boss area. But other than that it’s been smooth with no crashes yet. Tho my rig is pretty strong. 7900xtx/5800x3d @1440p/165hz on All High settings. Haven’t tried Ultra yet but the game looks great on High already.

I destroy those builds regularly with no magic. 4 days of playing a level 160. Everytime I see magic spam I shoot my 60 agility/60 strength auto crossbow and cancel and make them scared of healing or magic. No mana cheesing against me. Won't work lol

Game actually runs fine for me, but I have a pretty highend pc. What I dont like is the awful, is the unintuitive kbm keybinding...having to actually hold ctrl to use lamp/range/magic whilst also using same hand to move and use other buttons is bad and feels bad. Also, not being able to close the tutorial windows when they pop up on pc is about the jenkiest thing I've seen in a long time, and it freezes the game when the uncllsable window pops up...I had to keep closing the game, then restarting, then turn off tutorial option, which also feels bad and is bad. Idk, this game needs some serious fixing all around, for pc anyway. I recommend anyone who's considering buying to wait until they patch out some of the bugs and hopefully fix some on jenky keybinding if you want to play on kbm

Correction… the Minic items will not move after you die. Also, I’m beyond shocked that none of you content creators know that if you soulflay with your lantern while facing the minic item, it will one shot the minic (doesn’t matter if you’re in umbral or not) and you will be able to pick up the items. One of which is VERY rare item discovery boost item. DO NOT USE THESE!!! Hold onto them until you’re towards the end of the game. Honestly, just don’t use it unless you KNOW when you’ll want to use it… as these items are EXTREMELY limited and once they are gone, they’re gone for good!

the mimic more often than not drops the rabbits foot but occasionally drops the charmed foot. There is an npc "theik ihir" i think sells them after meeting him a couple of times and i think its an unlimited amount. If you buy selected amount and the max you can buy is 99 then this will (should) be refreshed if you rest, only if the merchant has a specific amount like 5 (the large stones theik ihir sells after killing dervla boss in the depth) then these items will disappear from his inventory as is the same with other merchants.

The BIGGEST mistakes that u can make is the one i made. I bought Deluxe edition eager to jump into PVP, worst peer to peer connection EVER givin the entire advantage to whoever is host makin the other person rubber-banding and laggin all over the place. Thankfully i had 1:45' played on steam so my refund request got approved

weird, I haven't had any problems. prior to release there was a memory leak that caused the game to lag if you played it for a long time without restarting the game, but they seem to have fixed that as the game has been running great for me

What a shame this game is not optimized. It doesn't look like unreal 5 it looks like a PS3 game. I'm talking Square pixelation like in Minecraft. I can't believe developers are willing to release their product like this. It causes people to not purchase their game. I understand they want to get it out the door and make some of that money back but it's costing thousands of sales and possibly millions of dollars just for a few more months. consumables are the last 5% of your power, bosses are going to be 95% outplaying them. if you get stuck on a boss, I suggest exploring other areas, killing things along the way, and getting a few lvls into vitality and endurance to make your future attempts easier. and no joke, first boss was the hardest one in the game for me. make sure you are not heavy. medium or less ( i went in with ight weight and boss was a breeze after that)
