But don't you still have the cost of a 4th board with your 3rd? I mean couldn't you have gotten the same result just by swapping them? I know you don't reach another edge on the last board, but theoretically, you could just swapped them and then have the same result [if you were to reach an edge on your last board]?

The example is not the best. Instead of removing the temporary 3 board, you could put the board you want as 3 (Revealing) there (where Sapping ends up as 5) to begin with before you attach the 4 board and have Sapping where Revealing is and it'd still be 5. This can definitely make a difference, but it's not required for the example shown. The examples where it matters are 1) Linear pathing you can make the last board go as low as 3 (dropping 4th board to 3 can be done just by changing attachment order, so no gain). 2) If you have a split path at the end (3 splits to 4 and 5) you can also make either 4 or 5 be 3. edt: I have not verified the two cases I listed as useful, but conceptually they're the only two cases where you couldn't reposition or reorder boards and get the same result without the glitch.

I think the exhaustive list where it matters is below, excluding options where swaps occur 1) 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 5 -> 4 (1 -> 2 -> 5 -> 3 -> 4 swapping 3 and 5 yields this) 2) 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 5 -> 3 (1 -> 2 -> 5 -> 4 -> 3 swapping 4 and 5 yields this) 3) 1 -> 2 -> 5 -> 4, 3 off 2 or 5 4) 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 3+5

Cool trick :) though technically not a bug, since it still has incremental costs for each board. but does help with pathing more efficiently. thanks for sharing.
