Time to dive back into our "Booger" Ford Capri revival or restoration or whatever you want to call it. We're trying to make an old forgotten about car run drive turn and stop again! In the last video you all saw with this car it fired up and idled with the newly cleaned fuel tank and timing setup, now it's time to see if it will move and importantly will it STOP!
What we have here is a 1974 Ford Capri 2000GT powered by the ever popular Ford 2.0 Pinto 4 cylinder engine. Here in the states this is definitely the most sought after setup for a the MK 1 Ford Capri as it is bone simple, takes abuse, and can turn out solid power and not cost a crazy amount of money. This car was originally purchased as a parts car for the Junkyard Digs Capri we picked up a few months back but it's just in too good of shape for us to tear it apart. So, 2 project capri build cars going at the same thing. Yeah we know we're nuts.
In this episode we work on some of the fueling issues and start getting into the break system before running into one of the stupidest snags possible. But that's how old cars, hot rods, muscle cars, and project cars go... rarely according to plan!
Also included in this is a little bit of the background situation behind what went on with the Old Man's Garage Malibu when it was here last. The pinion bearing challenge and how Mark at A1 in Buckeye lake stepped up and found us a solution! So kudos again to Mark for the extra effort. Norm at Team Blitz, without you we would have NO idea what direction to go and what is possible with this... and no where to find parts! Glad to have you on the team!
Lastly as always we want to thank all of our fans, subscribers, and supporters who are helping this channel grow and improve. Without you folks coming to watch our shenanigans we would just be some weird Ohio car guys doing cool stuff by ourselves, sharing some of it with you all makes it much more fun. Special thanks to the SRC / Street Racing Channel / SRC Garage / Old Man's Garage family as well as the Junkyard Digs folks for the huge support over the last few months. You all have been incredible and we can not say THANK YOU enough!
We hope you enjoy this video there are more parts on the way and we'll be back to wrenching on Capris! The next Capri video you see though MAY be with the Ford Capri Racecar that's sitting in storage and the engine build we have moving forward for it!
