@dudu-fo7hz5 жыл бұрын
This movie is absolute nonesense. We already use near 100% of the brain, but not all in he same time. In the very least, if we could do that we would gain more intelect, preception and understanding of the world, and a little of control of over some basis of the brain (like pain supression, retrocognition and a simulation of Savant Sindrome, perhaps). And, but this is pushing the rope a little, and if it did happen it would increase the chance of the problems I'm going to talk next, the hability to directly use deeper levels of your brain like control the heart beat and some organs, your metabolism, regeneration of cells (inside what is humanly possible. This could include rejuvenation), etc. (although, with the side effects that I talk next this wouldn't be that possible or would be useless). This sounds amazing, but there would be high side effects: in the best option we would be in coma for just less then a minute of use (probably less depending on what you do) or age much faster and have permanent damage in your body (because if the brain is one the things that uses more energy in your body, with just around 10%, imagine using 100%. Your cells would have to simpply kill themselfs working extra hard to get you that amount of energy, in the process suspending or slowing all the work in the rest of the body and transfering it to the brain. That would accelerate the natural "experition point" of the cells and you would get older and, since all natural funtions were suspended to the minimum, many of theme come just never get back to normal), and in the worst scenario we would die, probably painfuly, in the equivalent of our brain exploding from to much work. Finally, ingnoring all the reality of these side effects, I think many people wouldn't even know what to do with this much "power", sinse there is so much possibility, and would just stop their heart accidently, for example. So, to concluse, you would never want to reach 100%. I think around 30% is enough, if you choose well which sections use (the thinks I said earlier that we could do, in theory, can be reach, although in the minimun, with this amount). If you want to look in a "religious way", no being is ready to this much power. also, just a side note: Tekekinisis and most of the powers she has could be possible based on some theories (including that in which she "travels to the past". But it would be just simulations and to us seemed the powers).

The saddest part is that they won’t just become a mist. Since the car is moving at an infinite speed then if at any given moment of existence their hand was to pass anywhere in front of the car. Then it would just disappear because the mist would also move at an infinite speed. And then again this movie bases everything in it on what you can see. And completely ignores the fact that some people are blind.

@@jolly3257 Do we use a 100% of our brain's capacity?
@sorrowandsufferin9244 жыл бұрын
@@ihsahnakerfeldt9280 We do. Contrary to a processor or any kind of machinery, human brains are split into dedicated areas; different areas are used to do different things. There are areas for processing information, areas for connecting it, areas for storing it, and areas for remembering it. Then there are areas to regulate movement, as well as the chemistry in the body and the biology. Every process in the body is executed by the brain. There is only one very crude back-up in the spine. The human brain requires a 100% usage, otherwise either the brain itself or the body will fail. Should the brain fail, the most basic processes like breathing and digestion or heartbeat can be switched to the spine; it's how braindead people stay alive. A processor may be capable of using only a part of its capability to do what it would usually do at the expense of time. Basically, it would be slower. The brain can't do that. Switch off a part of the brain, and a part of the body corresponding to it will likely shut down as well.

But can you picture and feel all of that imagining at once? Like really, think about it. Can you picture the ball bouncing, can you imagine the soft fix of the ball in your hand, the way the ball rolls off your palm as you throw it, the echoing sound when the ball bounces, the dust and dirt flying up as the ball hits the ground? I highly doubt all of that ran through your brain when you pictured it. It was probably more of a quick flash of imagery that tricks your brain into thinking it saw the whole event, instead of rather quick pictures to summarize the event. That’s what they mean by using 100%. It’s not about the amount of brain that is used in form of matter, it’s about the process of thought in which you have used. Your brain is never below 100% usage, however to say you’re using it in its utter complete capacity available is foolish. If that were the case, we would’ve all been Einsteins and Hawkings.
@SuperBrendan36 жыл бұрын
Nathan Schaefer that have nothing to do with your brain capacity. You’re mistaken, if you’re to throw a ball you only get the ‘real’ events in more clarity than your imagination because it’s your brain decoding the information you get from your sensory organs/neurones. You can’t conflate the 2 things. Your imagination capacity has nothing to do with your ‘brain usage’
@ayatovevo6 жыл бұрын
think about brain CAPACITY like your computer, the more capacity you have, the more you can use, our brain works at 100% but we only use the necessary capacity to not go into an epileptic attack, brain overload and die, CAPACITY doesn't mean ability or usage, that's why we don't remember everything, if we could our capacity would be increased, but to do stuff in seconds like calculus or that, yes we need more capacity, but we need more brain power too, which that is based out of evolution naturally, or an extra tool to help us increase ''RAM'' and ''CPU'' power, like the thinker's Thinking Cap

Someone with all knowledge is not corrupted, someone with some knowledge who believes to be above and wants full control isn’t fully knowledgeable. For knowledge stays neutral at all times.

I agree the movie is completely fictional in terms of the brain but it does have a great quotes. "Ignorance breeds chaos not knowledge." A profound claim.

Really? Because humans where a lot less lethal before gaining the knowledge of gun powder, sharp steel and nuclear warheads. Ignorance is not only bliss, but also less damaging.

Yes but now people are going to start walking around thinking this is what will happen, they pose the movie as a this is what would happen if it was possible instead of hey wouldn't that be cool, worst of all now people are going to be really annoying and say "diD yOu KnOw iF we use" blah blah

There's a difference between science fiction and pseudoscience. A science fiction movie would use clearly imaginitive and speculative elements of science such as flying cars, time travel and Death Stars and would present these elements in a way that clearly shows these are not real. They would not claim this as fact. Pseudoscience however, would claim certain facts or beliefs to be scientific but are actually completely wrong. This is why a lot of people have a problem with this movie. It isn't science fiction. It's pseudoscience. In the same movie, you can see "scientists" doing experiments, giving lectures and such, which seems to a lot of people that this movie is trying to present clearly wrong and impossible science "theories" as fact and real. And as movies, these are going to be shown to a lot of people who are not as well-read. Thus, spreading misinformation. This is why this movie has a problem

This is amazing. This lines up with Einstein's theory of speed and time, in which something moving through space in a different way makes it move through time in a different way, which is where I imagine the inspiration of the car scene comes from, where they represent that without the existence of time, then we can't have space, so the very existence of time is the only thing keeping us from the verge of destruction. Makes you appreciate those long ass college classes more.

"People think in terms of good and evil, but really, time is the true enemy of us all. Time kills everything. The world is not what it ought to be, humanity longs for the eternal, for a world beyond time, because time is what enslaves us. Time is an insult. Death is an insult..." -Kaecilius, Dorctor Strange 2016
