i don’t think so since lucy said the song is about change and outgrowing past versions of herself. i’m pretty sure she’s pro protesting actually, her song yours & mine was inspired by going to protests against police brutality. :)

There's so many ways to interpret these lines and it's a bit wild to base the whole theme of the song on them. also being sweet is not a virtue, especially if it keeps you from standing up for yourself or others. Like Liana said, if you want to listen to a song about actual protesting, there's Yours & Mine.
