Whitetail are very tight family units, when you become part of their family, the bond is very strong.. luckily I'm a dude & not a buck, I don't get pushed back come the rut, the bucks won't have much to do with me, they want to be left alone or be on their way, & the does have only one use for them in season..brothers & sisters seem to stay together @ least a year, I've seen usually with older sisters..I'm still learning from my wild deer family & their friends, I have been blessed by their Momma🥰👍

I noticed how affectionate they are towards one another. So precious, especially supportive of each other with the loss of their amazing, loving, adoptive Momma Lucy; who was always willing to be a momma to any sweet deer that needed some care and love. I’d say Miss Lucy was an amazing Mother and dear sweet friend to the deer and all the humans around her. I miss Lucy, yet see her legacy in the sweet deers loving Chris, Jimmy and their family.💖🥰👍💫

We had a deer one evening come up to us after we made some popcorn over the fire. She got about 20 to 30 feet from us sniffing the air like crazy. My dad got up through a handfull of popcorn at her she ran away came back about a minute later walked up to it a gobbled it up. By the end of the summer we were making a big bowl just for her. FYI no butter extra salt was her fave.

I'm still amazed after 20 years w/wild deer, past 5yrs I have tried to spend more time engaging w/them, rather than being a "gawker" lol precious results! I don't feed them, they have plenty, but I do take walks w/them, sit w/them, very rarely share treats, but they eat their diet, I follow among, eat blackberries.. 🥰❤🦌

Chris & Jimmy you raised some good kids & grandkids the way there hanging up @ the farm to do & help where they can!!! Jordan is just the sweetest. The young man feeding the deer today what a sense of humor!!! Chris One Day At A Time its going come back the on the left side just going to extensive Physical Therapy. I know you won't give up you come so far already. I am praying for the whole Houston Clan to give you all strength. Please pray for me too that I need to find a job lost my job when Covid hit.We have to keep building on his glory & praises so we can get through these set backs of daily living & keep the faith.
