You and your wife as myself have had our heart strings pulled on today. As you were taking that walk with Milburn, my son got married. Its hard to set things free when you love them so much. We give it to God and pray that He will watch over them, knowing that He will. I watched milburn grow up and know this was hard, but the right thing to do. I cried w watching him he knew something was wrong he wants to stay with you. I just hate he can't. Why can't he stay there he leaves for awhile anyways. I may have missed a video. Please let me know if you can why he had to leave. I know it's hard for you. God will watch over him keep him safe. I will be praying for Milburn and your family. And Lucy will miss him so much too. I understand now what you are doing it for. Hopefully the months go by quickly and he comes back safely around December so he can be safe through the winter. You may not get extremely cold temperatures like we do in Indiana. This video was such a RELIEF to watch! Animals DO know what we say when speak to them like in simple conversation. What's more important is getting on eye level with them while you talk. Sounds weird, but after 30 years of rescuing animals (mainly dogs, and a cool cat), I can attest to it. Every time I watch you, I'm still taken back to my early teens when I watched you fishing. Only God knows why I did it, and now I understand. That's how He works. You trained Milburn WELL, as God intended when He created them. You didn't leave him, you'll be overseeing him stepping into a new phase of life. It's difficult, yet part of the commitment of tending to rescues. Thank you for proving that it does take a gift to dedicate a huge portion to a select few animals. You've also been blessed with the gift of educating. Thank you for caring enough to share with us. You've been very uplifting throughout my life. This full circle of finding you on KZbin, has been a blessing to me! Thank you to Chris too, for your dedication, and loyalty to family on every level. Most of all, thank God for your being humble! I read, and lean heavily toward believing it.... due to where the twin albino are located that I observe and film. I can see where the area where they live, and get notifications across the country of others spotting them. It's been reported that.... well I just looked this up, specifically about bucks on "bowhunter.com" about their radius, and it's less than the general observations, but reportedly changes as they mature: "Although most hunters believe a yearly home range is roughly one square mile, home range size depends primarily on the quality of habitat. A buck could live his entire life in less than 450 acres, or two-thirds of a square mile, if the habitat is of high-enough quality."

Man, he is going to be lonely! He'll miss all his little brothers and sisters as well as his adoptive Mom. I hope the adjoining landowners love you and watch out for Milburn during hunting season. Just a shame...but bucks do get crazy during the rut....and occasionally even kill some one who thinks they are their pet and decide not to segregate the deer. Dang, I'll miss seeing him...wonder if he'll go totally wild or return after the rut is over.

@@loraharris2937 This may...or may not encourage you...They did this because he is doing what male deer do and it sounds like their drive to mate makes them focused on female deer to the point that he's loosing sight of consideration and kindness to those around him. Chris and Jimmy are very knowledgeable and caring so just like Lucy had that male deer sit and wait for her being single minded, Milburn will pursue a lady deer also and the season will pass that his hormones will change again and he'll be quite himself again maybe January. Jimmy said rite on this video he'd check on him later that day and if I'm not mistaken he said he'll go out that way often, and he was going to put new batteries and fill the two feeders; Milburn will recognize the alert sound of the feeder delivery system and meet other deer at that time. Love can be really tough. I hope that helps.

Yes, he was a pet, this is too sad and cruel. He should have been neutered as a youngster, and spared the violence of rutting season. Poor sweet soul has been cast out of his family, and he doesn't know why. What a horrible betrayal! I honestly don't know how Jimmy and Chris can sleep at night.

Millburn is my favorite. I love watching him grow up as he gets more antlers and prepare to watch them spread. I, like Jimmy feel like that he will be fine and he will return after the rut. Good luck Millburn. We all love you and God bless
