I enjoy weight training but your content helped me realize that I was more interested in functional training than weight PRs, so I’m switching up my workouts!

I like having variety in my workouts. Everything suggests doing stuff three times a week, but that would be boring! I want to run just twice a week so I can go for a swim and to my dance class as well. My partner and I have decided to be fine with lifting twice a week, because it just gets too hard to fit in otherwise. Progress is a bit slower, but I'm happy to pay that price to not get bored!

BJJ benefits tremendously from both climbing and calisthenics! So glad you're trying it. The learning curve is steep, even steeper than handstands, but it's so much fun.

If you want to skate out side try in line skates with larger wheels. Find them much better on the rougher surfaces, they repaved the road in front of my place, so thinking as soon as the weather warms up will be trying it again been quite a few years, sense I did it, the neighbors in Berry, Ontario, said I was going faster on them than most people on bikes. But have not tried them sense moving to the island seven years ago. Going to have to get some elbow and wrist guards to start of with and some knee pads. At 75 years do not bounce back like I use to.

You can get a piece from Amazon that keeps multiple necklaces separate. I'm not sure what it's called.

You’ve struggled with depression and anxiety? Wow, I would have never told. I mean not that this is obvious anyways, I’ve been hiding it all my life, so here I am 😅😢 It’s great you’ve overcome it. I’ve just found your channel and really enjoying your videos. I have approximately 30kg of weight to lose. I did it once but gained it all back + more. 30 years of hating my body, almost 40 years of life lived and still struggling to be happy and healthy despite all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained. I’m very grateful that people like you create content and motivate others though I ashamedly admit that I’m a bit exhausted and demotivated as it’s almost all my life that I’ve struggled. Even after studying nutritional science and psychology for many years. Oh the irony of life and the theory vs reality struggle. I suppose many of us know what to do, we just hardly ever stick to it for long. Please wish me consistency, I don’t need luck, I just need consistency and patience 😅 thank you 🙏💚

@Lucy Lismore I love that you're exploring many different training methodologies, particularly with a move to more functional training lately. I've been having the same thoughts and having done cali for several years want to mix it up a bit and do more functional training. Some of what Adam Sinicki "The Bioneer" does may strike a chord with your journey, would be great to see you two do a collab? I'll be trying his training plan from next week as it seems to be a good all round approach. Like you, I've got muscle ups and human flags on the long term plan, no rush, may as well get stronger first :)

Love to see that you started to incorporating some lower body program into your routine. I dare to say you gonna see progress sooner than in 8 months :) . Quick note on that soy isolate you were using at start on the video, you should try whey it is more more taistier than soy protein. And one note on sumo deadlift try to keed your stand little bit wider to use more leg drive.

Thanks so much 😁! I'm hoping so but I would love to be able to shift a pretty decent amount of weight eventually and that might take a little longer 😋 - excited for the journey though! Thanks for the tip with the deadlifts too... I'm very rusty 😅 I need to remember to see it as a push movement rather than pull. The calisthenics in me doesn't understand 😂! I know what you mean about the whey but unfortunately I can't have any dairy so need to stick to the vegan options. I even had to relinquish my ON vanilla whey because my psoriasis couldn't handle it 😢. The My Protein Soy Isolate tastes really good though thank fully! Thanks so much for the support 🥰

@@lucylismore I sure you will move some good amount of weight Lucy :). I remember when i stared more seriour with deadlifts i was able to put 50kg on my max in like 4 months. Btw if i remember coretly there is also DH32 whey protein and that one had like zero allergens, if you in future would like to have some whey :) Lots of love :)

Hi Lucy, loved this vid! I’ve been doing your beginner handstand all week and feeling stronger already! I just wanted To ask, how did you start calisthenics? I can’t remember if you’ve made a video about this, but did you just start alone at home, or join classes or have a coach that taught you all this? Thanks for all your videos and advice, your channel is great! X

She has another video up (I believe it’s older) but she talks about how she really just started playing around with it at local parks and didn’t even know it had a name in the beginning of trying it!

Im getting so confused about the workouts i should be doing tbh my goals are just to become more flexible, be able to do push ups and gain muscle;;; and calisthenics are prob best for that but i am just incredibly weak i need to build up the muscle first and i struggle with eating too im like a skinny no muscle stick atm although i already gained 10 kg. Ok rant over lmfao

Softer wheels are generally better for outdoors, harder for indoors or skateparks with a smooth surface. 😊 Ever thought about trying roller derby? 😁 It's so much fun! Anyway, thank you for all your wonderful advice and videos! 💖

Thanks so much! That makes sense because mine are harder and it was terrifying 🤪! Roller derby is intense!!! Do you do it?! Maybe one day 😅! Thanks for your kind words, have an amazing day 💕

@@lucylismore I used to, just trying to get back into it after a long C-word pause and various injuries 🙈🤞 It is intense though, you're not wrong 😅 But skating is super fun in general, I've missed it loads! Have an amazing day too and good luck with your skating journey 🛼🛼🛼

Did you do cardio when you started the fitness journey ? I do cardio everyday but feel like my body doesn’t change 🥺😭
@samaramaria64152 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm not her but I can try to help you. 1st of all what actually changes our body it's our nutrition and if we eat good and healthy things. Do you have a good nutrition? I've been working out at home (calisthenics, yoga and workout using dumbbells, just like the gym) for like 2 yeas but the last 6 months I haven't seen diferente in my body (even knowing that I had a great nutrition like I usually ate a lot of oats like 2 times at a day). I drink 2 liters of water every day + workout. And I was THE SAME I swear, I was full of angry hahaha So I decided to go to a nutritionist and she told me that was with a really slow metabolism. This can be your situation
@samaramaria64152 жыл бұрын
And here is another thing that I forgot to say: you are working out for just a month (now you may be like 2 or 3 months). This things aren't fast it takes time and patience, soon you'll see your results. But if you can (and have a little bit of money) go to a nutritionist cause this is the most important thing to reach your goals
