Bruh, I moved from Bed Stuy to ATL when Luda was still on the radio and mentioned that he was in talks with Def Jam(Chris Luva Luva and Poon Daddy on 107.9) He would spit little stuff on air every now and then and with that little bit I knew that he was nothing to play with. This versus battle was an insult to Ludacris, I'm sorry. Luda versus T.I. or someone like that but Nelly? Nelly barely raps...the nigga sings and his shit is corny. Niggas ain't studying Nelly for word play or flow. Luda gets a bad rap because if you actually sit and listen you can get something out of his word play, flow, punchlines and the whole nine. Nelly don't have punch lines and if so they weak, zero flow, zero metaphors...all swag. The one thing I heard from Nelly that was fire was the verse from Hear I Am when he DIDN'T sing. I didn't recognize him. The nigga was spitting some shit.

I agree with Rory about the understanding of words. To name few Redman Method Man Raekwon their not the most audible rapper. It'll take you a couple listens to catch some of their bars. But that also what makes them great. Drake is crystal clear on his words, the flows and delivery (how well he execute the last word of the bar). That's a great foundation for any artist who's on the road to being a goat in hip hop.
