Glad you enjoyed the team! The name "Nostalgia" mostly comes from my main VGC team in Gen 6, which centered around Mega Gardevoir and Helping Hand Arcanine, so I wanted my first SwSh team to feature them again.

Blastoise is unreleased so far this generation. Given the amount of effort put into animations for signature moves etc it’s entirely possible that Blastoise does fire his cannons now.

@@jotarokujo3603 oh wow I didn't know Blastoise got thanos snapped?! I don't own the games. This is the first Pokémon game and console I haven't owned since the games came out. Hopfully one day I'll play it. This is the first time I'm seeing any gen 8 Pokémon.

Well so far in the new games Charisse’s exists, but not the other two starters, along with most existing Pokémon. But there is a new Pokémon Bank style app coming to the switch which will allow transfers from Pokémon Lets Go. It’s just a guess from me, but considering how many Pokémon got unique attack animations, I would really hope Blastoise is one they’ve finally fixed.

I haven't played competitively since 6th gen, but I believe when your speed stat changes in the middle of doing moves, it doesn't actually change until the beginning of the next turn. That's why Ludicolo still outspeeds at 25:00.

DLM is a good resource if you want to know what was successful on the ladder 2 weeks ago. If he ever built an innovative deck on his own he didn’t make a video on it. Any decent player has already seen the decks he showcases in game and are using it themselves if they want.

Pretty sure everyone already pointed this out but: This gen trick room actually is SHORTER. It used to last 5 Turns, but given as Speed is Dynamic now, the turn you cast it in counts as 1 turn, and therefore after you cast it, there's only 4 turns left of it now.

Hey, just in case someone in the deep recesses of the comments hasn't fully explained, the "[Pokemon name] Galar Champion" thing is based on ribbons! You can select a ribbon in a Pokemon's summary screen and have it display on that specific Pokemon when they're sent out into battle, and I'm super eager to see if they have phrases for Pokemon imported from earlier games once we can migrate mons up (though I'll have to find someone I purified in Orre that can migrate because that's the ribbon I'm most curious about). I haven't tried this with the Effort or Friendship ribbons yet, but I do know it works with Gift Pokemon like the G-Max Meowth GameFreak gave out! (I believe that one says "Pokemon Fan [Pokemon name]", though I only sent that Meowth out like once before boxing it to the deep recesses of my storage so I could be remembering wrong...) Anyways, as always, thanks for the vids! Glad to be back watching now that I've finally played SWSH myself!

Dragon Darts will hit each pokémon once unless one of the other pokémon can't be targeted/damaged. So that protect from excadrill will allow you to hit arcanine twice if it survived first hit.

if your pokemon has a band like for defeating the league you can activate it for a battle introduction (Galar champion) and now attempt to get a star shiny with a natural band.

Ferrothorn is best suited in rain teams, because of it's x4 weakness to fire; in the rain, fire moves are weakened. It also does well in a sandstorm, due to its steel typing, which prevents it from taking the residual damage.

I think Gen8 is a very good generation, and I hope they improve on with a sequel (not skip it like gen6, not make it like USUM). But first, gen4 remakes lol. I think we’ll get gen4 remakes next, given gamefreak’s pattern, meaning they might want to go straight to gen9 afterward. I would prefer gen4 remakes over a Gen8 sequel

Jacob K I agree with the competitive refresher. Not every team has a mega, z-move abuser, and UBs/tapus/legendaries. But RIP mega mawile. Such an awesome design, concept, and competitive Pokémon. Regular Mawile isn’t too good on its own... design wise and competitive. I think Mega Mawile was my favorite mega overall.
